Seems a very good price here.

It says "Archos Gold Label Refurbished" but dunno what that means other than being a refurb.

I am sure this normally sells for over £170 new. Not for me but maybe a good xmas present for someone!

Was just about to post this. If only I had cash! This a beast of a portable media player...the browser supports flash, bbc iplayer, etc.
But iBood are slow as hell at delivering, though. I waited about 10 working days for my AMBX system to arrive, and when it did it was missing a UK plug adapter. You just have to be patient

Looks like this is the Archos 5 (older style, black/gold), rather than the Archos 5 Internet tablet in black shown in the video link.

Anyone know the differences? (speed , app compatibility?)

I take it I can only add apps from Archos.

Anyone have one and comment on the web browser and PDF reader capabilities. Also would it play xvid/divx video files? Is this version compatible with iplayer?

the new archos 5 has the android operating system and a slightly faster cpu - as far as i can see though apart from that they are identical.

also the video link is the one being sold on ibood as far as i can see

this is a good buy and i have just snapped one up.

also the gold refurb is basically a brand new system (according to archos anyway)

Just had an email cancelling my order. Was going to be a christmas present so a bit miffed. They have however given me 3 free delivery codes valid for a year. Thats over £23 if I use them.
