Question "Teakwood video": what's that and where can their dvds be ordered ?

I wonder about a dvd company named "Teakwood video" . The imdb lists 631 releases of a variety of classic and sometimes rare films so far:

http://www.imdb.com/company/co0136152/

I checked the usual shops, but never came across these dvds. I'm well aware that Teakwood will be one of those public domain distributors with possibly less or more poor disc quality from the laundry. Who knows about the quality of these releases ? It's expecially Hal Roach's THE DEVIL WITH HITLER (1942) I'm interested in. Thanks.

From what I can gather Teakwood have a reputation for cheap and cheerful transfers to video of rare-ish films, sometimes from 16mm prints. It looks to me that they've bought up a whole slew of rights but have yet to actually produce anything on disc!

Love this comment at IMDB about The Devil With Hitler; 'Hitler is heard bragging about his skills as a two-handed house painter by claiming..."I could switch hands and never miss a stroke."' Oo-er missus...

I have ordered very often from them in the past several years as they have some astonishlingly rare films. Most seem to be from 16mm or 35mm prints and I consider they look quite fine for such scarce, never restored titles. But don't expect the quality of a WB release of course. I got a few that very dark but even so, it did not deprive me in the least from enjoying the films. They ship very promptly too.

Cool.

Do you have any contact information on them other than the address... and, if not, do you know how much a catalog costs?

Thanks

CinéKarine, can you advise how I can contact Teakwood please. I am in Australia, and an email to them bounced.
Thanks.

Hmm ..... I'm looking for the 1940 version of "The Way of all Flesh". Teakwood was the only link to this movie I've found.
Anybody had success with Movielead.com to obtain old movies?

I think I used movielead in '99. I filed a bunch of requests and got one thing. What they got was fine, but I haven't used it in 8 years...
