the amount of cheesy
little tit bits like a face mask, business card etc etc it could have been class but it looks like its just gonna be a weak effort of a great film imho.you really do owe it to yourselves to read the book though if you have only seen the film.

The book was far more satirical (and disturbing) than the film.
The e-mail campaign that they had going before the film was released was great but I lost it when my very old PC died. PS... Found it... http://www.briankotek.com/psycho/movie/am2000.cfm Last edited by gary191265; 10-04-2005 at 10:28. Reason: Found the e-mail stuff !:) |

Sold my old Region 1 copy years ago, so may give this another look.
Edit: Wasn't there a R1 "Rated" and "Unrated" version?

Better be careful to distinguish between R1 US and R1 Canada

I've just ordered this at dvdpacific. About £8.80 with pikey-post or £10.50 if you use airmail.

It's because sometimes the Canadian theatrical version is the same as the US 'unrated' version as the Canadian ratings board are more sensible that the US MPAA! In the same way that in the UK we got American Psycho totally uncut as an 18 certificate.
In the case of the American Psycho, the fully uncut version has one more syllable during the sex scene ("hole" after "ass") that the 'unrated' version put out across R1 the first time around didn't include. I don't know if that will change with the new release. |

AMERICAN PSYCHO is a fantastic film - Bale's peformance is terrific. What's this I hear about the R2 UK lip-sync problem? I own a copy of EIV's disc and I do actually seem to recall a similar problem, but I just assumed it was a problem with my eyes/ears...
This new release looks promising, mind.

Watched this tonight - the transfer is a real improvement...a little soft maybe, but a lot more cinematic, and less prone to artefacting, than the previous release, and the Harron commentary is pretty damn good.
Very nice. |
