no quibbles guarantee amazon.co.uk

Im thinking of buying a PVR capture card from amazon.co.uk and wondered if anyone had any info on their no quibble guarantee.

Its says you can return an item if not satisfied but on another page it mentions that the item has to be still wrapped and unopened.

I just needed to know if by no quibble they would accept an item back opened as I would need to test it in my system.

Thanks

Our "no quibbles" guarantee means that if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition within 30 days of the date you received the item, unopened (with any seals and shrink wrap intact) and we will issue a full refund for the price you paid for the item. Please note: we can only accept the return of opened items if they are faulty.
So in answer to your question, nope.

I did mention Id seen that in the description but my question was if anyone had any knowledge of them accepting goods that are opened as "no quibble" and stating "if you are not satisfied" would only work if the goods could be opened.

But thanks for the reply anyway

lol that's a bit of a contradiction, how can you know whether you are satisfied with the product or not if you can't open it to have a look

Hmm.. I can understand it for a software purchase, but surely for anything else that caveat contravenes the Distance Selling Regs..?

EDIT - oops missed the 30 days bit..

procalli - forget the 'no quibble guarentee' - if it's unsuitable for your system just send it back within a week for a full refund. Amazon: Statutory Rights
