Nani even played fairly well on the left (apart from early on), so i expect we're all scared

Terrific performance tonight. Milan were made to look like Liverpool.

Just got in from cinema and watched your game. Awesome performance.

The most disciplined and 'tactically astute' performance from us in a long, long time.

Park being out for the 1st part of the season could prove a real benefit in the the run in, he's as fresh as a daisy.

Poor, ageing milan team but you can only beat what's in front of you. No surprise really about the 'Los Galacticos' (aka 'we spunked 250 mill euros but still ****** it up') crashing out.

Nice touch by Becks with the scarf.....priceless publicity

...no mate, I'd have loved to have seen that tear the back of the net off!

...it's not usual to want the opposition to score against us but as it was Becks (...Legend) and as it wouldn't have made any difference to the result, it would have made a fitting epitaph to his 'probable' last ever appearance against United!

...by the way, he was only on for the last half hour but he was easily their best player of the night...wish Fergie had of offered him a place in the team, he's wasted at Milan!

Agree with that completely. His delivery was superb - 'Rory Delap throw-'esque in the way that pretty much every time he crossed it, it looked like they might get a decent chance.

He was allowed a fair bit of time on the ball, though, as we were cruising by then. Would love to have seen him score with that rocket.

Definitely a good weapon to have if chasing the game at the World Cup, IMHO.

Absolutely. One of his pinpoint crosses on to the head of Rooney = goal.

That's the problem though - he'd never get that sort of space in the Premier League so i'm kind of glad he never came back. He's much better off in the generally slower Serie A.

Decent article in The Sun here that sums up the night last night really:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...alls-time.html

The sentimentalist in me would love to see Beckham in a United shirt one last time because he was the defining footballer of this era, but in fifty years I'm sure they'll be talking about Scholes and Giggs before they mention him.

becks will be remembered in 50 yrs more so than scholes imo.

not to take anything away from scholes, who is a legend in his own right

But will Beckham be remembered for his football more than Scholes will?
