I caught up with "The Collector". Yet another unpleasant torture-style horror flick with a fairly unbelievable premise. Too much slow motion used as well, for some reason this annoys me. Perhaps it's becoming too much of a cliche?

Very poor - watched this one at the cinema (thanks to cineworld pass it didnt cost anything). A slasher movie set in a girls sorority house should have loads of naked chicks and plenty of gore this has almost none

Last night I watched Dying Breed, another Aussie backwoods/inbreed gore film in the wake of Wolf Creek and similar in quality to Storm Warning. Considering there are a gazillion films like this around now, it was watchable enough with above average characterisation and some very strong gore and violence in the last third.

Watched Rec2 - superb film just as good as the first film. Thankfully they kept the cause of the virus and didnt go with the bloody stupid Rabies crap that was in the USA remake of the first movie. The movie does seem like a spiritual successor to Demons 1+2 (a series crying out for a remake/update).

After all these years got round to seeing Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, not really worth all that waiting to be honest haha not a patch on part 1.
Anyone got any good links info on how they buggered the film so badly? I remember reading over the years some real awful stories of Cannon gutting the entire film, it felt like it thats for sure. Not exactly bad, but not good either. |

I'm currently halfway through 'The Machine Girl'. Not too impressed so far but enjoying the 'Monty Python' blood spurts
Going to watch the end of it a bit later.

Anyone up for some old school horror?
I've finally gotten around to updating my website with a biography of the great American horror icon Vincent Price. I have also got 16 reviews of the classic AIP Gothic horrors and some of his lesser known work. |

Saw Mum&Dad on Monday and enjoyed, lovely bleak setting and enough humour to offset the nastiness and gore going on. Very impressive for a low budget british flick.
Anyone else think the mum/dad relationship was very similar to that in "The People Under the Stairs" (another film I love)? The mums even looked very similar! Think it will be Rec2 next week, sounds very promising.

Anyone seen/know much about 'Cut'? A low budgeter that is filmed entirely in one take!
