Just had a flicker of Edge but have had to turn 3g off...

Seems to be connecting but the initial router report is that the DSL connection is down...

But no actual Internet connection. Ought to try their wireless box in case they've done something that's different to the config on my old router.

having put up with slow speeds since August, finally took the plunge and moved from o2 Access to Vivaciti Premium using their Murphx product.

it's like night and day compared with o2! iPlayer & online gaming actually works now

it's restricted to 50gb per month and you do pay about £7.50 more per month but if like me you can't get LLU then it's definitely recommended

no problem

As an update i've been active with them since 7th Jan (activation was done in 3 days!) and their service has been excellent. Had a few billing queries which they answered in mins in some cases (at 8pm) and my sync has increased from 2.5mbps (o2) to 3mbps (vivaciti). Can't recommend them enough

I also moved to Vivaciti from O2 Access. Strange thing is I couldnt get LLU before but im now on LLU with viva. Looking good so far. Not sure the 75gb limit is enough though!

Guys, looking to migrate off BT Option 3 - and notice this thread hasn't had a update for a while.

I can't get LLU where I am so have o2 sorted out their ADSL problems??? Struggling to find a ISP to meet my needs!

Not really, general speeds and using things like Youtube at peak times is very poor and of course they throttle newsgroups (as well as p2p) making them unusable. I've finally had enough and just requested my mac code so I'm off to an isp that don't throttle but have a large cap. I've been looking at the following,
http://www.aquiss.net/
http://www.idnet.net/
http://adsl24.co.uk/

I'm prepared to pay about £39 a month but need at least 60gb (unlimited off peak) and no throttling.

I don't have LLU but as I previously posted Vivaciti's Access service has been great so far. They are doing unlimited 24Mb LLU for £17.04 per month - http://www.vivaciti.net/. Their forums should have more info / feedback - http://www.vivaciti.net/forum/

The only LLU providers on my exchange are Talk Talk, Orange & Tiscali.

In the end I went with adsl24 and although early days it's nice to have my speed back in the evening and full use of Newsgroups. I've got nothing to lose with 1 month contracts and can always move again if it turns out poor.

Yep - had a look over at their forums last night - seem good to me.

Midnight - 8am and all weekend for usenet stuff and I can get away with 3gb a month of "peak" traffic as we only ever use e-mail/facebook/twitter during the day!

Have to wait until July as can't be assed to get out of BT contract early.

Vivaciti business (non LLU) here. I get unlimited 8pm-8am Mon Fri and Unlimted all weekend. The rest is 90GB allowance but to be honest I'm only using 5-6GB of that so will downgrade. Its been great so far after month with full speed at 8Mb, even during peak times!

I saw a big advert in the Metro paper today for O2 Home Phone. I've currently got O2 Broadband which I'm paying £12.50 and the home phone with BT (on the basic package). Its seem like a no brainer to switch my home phone to them as well (£17.50 for BB & Phone).

Has anyone switched over to O2 for phone and what kind of service/experience have they had with them ?

Are there any truely Unlimited Broadband services out there, or ones that promise Unlimited and then don't put caps on ?

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/05/26/o2_disconnects/

I've just changed to o2 and am in an area thats had the cap applied so want to move away. My exchange is rubbish (http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/THTH) so won't be able to take advantage of any of the superfast deals, but just want one what will deliver what they advertise.

You'd be hard pushed to find an ISP using BT equipment offering a truly unlimited service

I switched to ADSL24

They have a simple peak/off peak service for non LLU people that download lots of stuff.

I signed up to 30gb a month "peak" traffic which is 8:00 - 00:00 Monday to Friday. Outside of those times is "off peak" - that includes all weekends and you can download what you want.

They do NO traffic shaping - all they do is charge you £1.20 per gig you go over your allocated amount (I am at 29% of 30gb with only a few days left of the month!). I get a constant 7.5mb connection any time of the day almost.

Just superb - have complete control over my net connection now. And a 30 day contract as well.

Thompson routers are unreliable if you use P2P due to the number of open ports used otherwise they are OK.
