Recommend me a series

Now that I have unfortunately watched all of the superb Dexter I need something else to become addicted to!

Any (perhaps similar) recommendations? Already got The Wire on my to-watch list...

Deadwood (old-west Shakespearian swear-athon)
True Blood (vampires and sex in the deep south)
Mad Men (advertising and sexism in the 1960's)
The Wire (you know about it)
Oz (the most terrifying and brutal prison drama I've ever seen)

and because I have to say it in every one of these types of threads:

Battlestar Galactica (possibly the best adult drama on TV in years).

Californication - that show has really grown on me. Watched all three seasons over the past few weeks.

Out of them, the one that most strikes me is Oz. I saw a few episodes once and enjoyed them, so might get into that one! Thanks.

As Michael C. Hall is in that too that one might be worth checking out. Many thanks!

Sons of Anarchy sounds intriguing and also never seen any of The Shield. Will try and check them out!

Not really into sport so might not like FNL but Supernatural looks interesting. Cheers

Hadn't heard of that at all, but the wikipedia article makes it sound pretty awesome. Thanks

I have to say House is worthy of adding to any list. Not really been a dip in quality since it began.

Would add Bones to it too, but maybe not to everyone's tastes. Similarly I'd say the various CSI series and Lie To Me.

Matter of personal taste that since I reckon dumping the original team and changing it to somewhere between The House Factor and House the Apprentice was a sign of desperation.
Watched the first episode of Sons of Anarchy due to Rollins pushing it on his latest tour and was underwhelmed.
CSI has been going for too long.
Currently like Nurse Jackie and Supernatural (though only just bought the 4th series) but suspect the latter will last long enough to go down the drain.

They took a few episodes before they really found their groove on this show.

Breaking Bad really impressed me - felt like watching a Coen Brothers film at times.

Sons of Anarchy seemed very meh for the first ep or 2 then it clicked and I loved it. Same with True Blood.

Other than that, more nods to The Wire, The Shield and OZ from me

Grab the only 2 series made of Carnivale on DVD - I picked up the recommendation from this forum and it's one of the best shows that I've ever seen.

Can't believe you've never heard of BB. It IS awesome, really.

Personally I can't recomend Survivor enough. That's reality TV but it's still one of the most entertaining programs to come out of the US (and the only good thing to come out of GMTV). If you're into sport then it's the sort of thing you'd love
