Well put Richie. It's their loss.

I thought the time travel stuff has been awesome and made the show far more interesting and the really the only logical way they could explain some of the stuff.

In some ways i was a bit disappointed that the show wasn't as straightforward as it seemed. i was looking forward to a swiss family robinson story. i imagined everYones lives were intertwined and all 48 survivors would hold a peice of the puzzle. MaYbe persons unknown will use that concept.

onl, managed the first 3 eps so far. spotted a hair in the gate near the end of episode 2, not something that showed up on dvd

Does anyone know of a list of episodes to rewatch prior to the final season that would provide a decent catch-up / re-cap / primer when there's not time to rewatch it all?

I've put this list together, what do you reckon?

Season One:
Pilot parts 1 & 2
Walkabout
White Rabbit
Raised by Another
All the best cowboys have daddy issues
Deus Ex Machina
Exodus part 2

Season Two:
Man of Science, Man of Faith
Orientation
Collision
The 23rd Psalm
The Long Con
?
Live Together, Die Alone parts 1 & 2

Season Three:
A Tale of Two Cities
Not in Portland
Flashes Before Your Eyes
The Brig
The Man Behind the Curtain
Through the Looking Glass parts 1 & 2

Season Four:
The beginning of the end
The Constant
The Other woman
The Shape of Things to Come
Cabin Fever
There's No Place Like Home Parts 1, 2 & 3

Season Five:
All Episodes

Season Two:

Season Three:

Catch-22

Season Four:
The Beginning of the End
Confirmed Dead
The Constant
The Other Woman
Meet Kevin Johnson
The Shape of Things to Come
Cabin Fever
There's No Place Like Home Parts 1, 2 & 3

Season Five:

Couple of additions, and a couple to scrub out in my opinion.

Just goes to show how whilst it was nice to get a good background on all the characters, so many of the peripheral characters flashbacks were so utterly pointless.

Most useful Richie and Rob, thanks. I didn't watch any yesterday so I have to watch 10.8 episodes today

Rob "The other Woman" has a load of important stuff about Ben in it (not to mention being a great episode), he admits at one point that he deliberately sent Juliet's husband to his death, thus knew the future and who was on the plane etc... which is weird. I hope they explain that by the way.. Ben got de-powered towards the end of season 5, his previous un-wavering knowledge of the future was swept aside. We already know that he never saw Jacob and ghosts like John did, because he jealous, so he couldn't have been told all this information.

Surprised at the love The Other Woman is getting. It's not a bad episode, but I'd definitely list it as the worst of season 4. Daniel and Charlotte being sinisterly secret about saving everyone is really nonsensical and Harper is built up as such a mysterious character for someone who serves no real purpose. Felt really clumsy compared to the rest of the season.

I'm really behind on my target. Fell asleep at 8pm last night during White Rabbit!

I've noticed a few foreshadowing things, though they may have turned out to be a coincidence. I've already forgotten one but the first that stood out to me was the first time we saw Christian Shepard he was drinking, so I thought perhaps his alcholism was decided much earlier. That said he was possibly drinking when he died so it might have been more obvious that we realised.

Jack's tatoos were visable from the scene where he got sewed up by Kate.

Locke clearly knows something from the moment he "sees" the monster.

Jacks tattoos are Mathew Foxs own tats. The show just went with what Mathew has and for some bizarre and frankly dumb reason based an episode around them.

That's only because for some reason it was considered odd by some for a doctor (no wait, a surgeon) to have tattoos!

I'm pretty sure his alcoholism was written into his character from day one. He drinks himself to death.

as of the end of season 5 how many days have they been on the island ?

I have just started from beginning, on ep 6 at moment, and now with benefit of hindsight, it really does move at some pace and the characters really seem to have changed

Its as if although the show happens in days and weeks the characters developed as per a standard TV show taking place over a year

That's not an easy question to answer the Oceanic 6 left the Island 101 days (31st Dec 2004) after the crash (22 September 2004) but then there was the 3 years the show skipped over then there was some time travelling.

Ajira Airways Flight 316 took off in Jan 2008 when it crashed Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid travelled back to 1977 where they remained eventually getting Juliet to trigger the nuke. The rest of the passengers of that flight ended up in 2007.

Both groups experienced 5 days post second crash.

Based on Lostpedia entry here

Honestly, I think Lostpedia is wrong about when the 316 crash took place. There's no evidence in the show whatsoever that those not sent to 1977 experienced any sort of time travel. Never once is it referenced that anything in the show took place in 2008, but they do reference 2007, even post 316 crash. If the Ajira flight had gone back in time by a few months, there's no way the passengers would have known it, thus wouldn't have referred to it as 2007 unless that had always been their present.

Lostpedia's a great resource, but I definitely think they're wrong on this one.

I can see what you're saying, but there was definitely a jump from night to day, so that seems to indicate some kind of jump.

As far as the episode lists mentioned earlier, I agree with robzinski's additions, but I'd also leave the two in he's scrubbed, especially The Long Con.
