It's not that simple - I think it gives them out based on how many plays it expects over a day, although it may then dish out lots at the end of the day if there have been fewer plays than predicted.

The guy selling you codes has sent me a few as a thankyou. Had 3 losses last night out of 4.

It seems that a leaked track list isn’t all the news Rock Band fans are enjoying today. In fact, EA Mobile just revealed some rather interesting information on its Twitter account: Rock Band is going mobile.

Now, according to EA Mobile's, the information and images provided aren't for an iPhone version of the game, as most probably suspected. Clearly, this begs the question: What platform is Rock Band Mobile coming out on?

Well, the latest EA Mobile post confirms, "Rock Band Mobile is launching 9/16 on Verizon. Unfortunately, I'm unable to comment on any other platforms at this time."

So there you have it. Although, it would be mighty impressive if EA decided to not release the game for the iPhone, so. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, here's the first batch of info:

Features
  • 4 ways to play! Rock out on lead guitar, drums, bass and vocals
  • 25 legendary songs from great bands like Motorhead, Blink-182, and Foo Fighters in high quality MP3 sound
  • Rock out solo or invite other players to join your band and rock the world
  • Jump into Quickplay for casual jam sessions or take to the road in Tour mode
  • Collect rewards and work your way to the top of the leaderboards!

Tracks
  • 30 Seconds to Mars - "Attack"
  • 30 Seconds to Mars - "The Kill"
  • AFI - "Girls Not grey"
  • Angels & Airwaves - "It Hurts"
  • Beastie Boys - "Sabotage"
  • Blink-182 - "All the Small Things"
  • Blondie - "Hanging on the telephone"
  • Finley - "Tutto E'Possibile"
  • Foo Fighters - "Learn to Fly"
  • Foo Fighters - "Everlong"
  • George Thorogood and the Destroyers - "Bad to the Bone"
  • Jethro Tull - "Hymn #A43"
  • Joan Jett - "Bad Reputation"
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Simple Man"
  • Motorhead - "Ace of Spades"
  • Rise Against - "Give It All"
  • Silversun Pickups - "Lazy Eye"
  • Smashing Pumpkins - "Cherub Rock"
  • Steve Miller Band - "Take the Money and Run"
  • Tempted - "Squeeze"
  • The All American Rejects - "Move Along"
  • The Go Go's - "We Got The Beat"
  • The James Gang - "Funk No. 49"
  • The Pixies - "Debaser"
  • The Presidents of the United States of America - "Ladybug"

Yeah, without all that, it just hammers home the fact that all your doing is playing a, slightly dull, rhythm game. The PSP version was crap from the demo I played.

Still don't have full internet at home back yet, but looking at the Supersonic video on youtube, it looks horrible.

Why they couldn't use the album version is beyond me...

the psp version is ace, as are amplitude and frequency so nerrr

although i sort of agree it might not work well on an iphone as it has no propper buttons.

I coudn't get on with it at all

I can't *do* these games unless I can leap around with the guitar or do drum poses. (you know, holding sticks in the air, tapping them together, twirling them, and standing up and pointing them at the 'audience' during bits with no drums etcetcetc).

cool, how does that work? is it like ouendan or something? the only experience i have of games on an iphone is when a friend tried to get me to play streetfighter using on screen buttons which was quite bad.

KRW - yeah fair enough the guitar/drum peripherals do make it more fun, i still really like the versions without though

I'm working through my codes and picked up 'Street of Dreams' and 'Riad n the Bedouins' yesterday. 'Street of Dreams' is really pleasant to play, somewhat softer than the others but it's got a really good solo and seems to be very FCable (I aced the solo but made a few mistakes elsewhere). 'Riad n the Bedouins' is the complete opposite, never lets up, very fast in tempo and pretty tough in places. Not sure I'd recommend it.

I also have 'Better' which is excellent. the 2nd solo is really satisfying.
