They can't do yet another terrorist attack on American again! They've done it for all 7 seasons. I'm sure if season 8 is to be the last, they'll want to do something different.

Can you really see an American audience cheering that on?

Whilst I was a bit taken aback by the Almeida triple switch, it does stand up to scrutiny far more than Nina's last minute change. The big question is, will Tony survive the season? Aside from the reveal, there was a lot of absurdity in this episode. Hodges handing himself up on a plate? I mean, really. As an evil genius, he really should have had a second plan in place in case the rockets were blown up. He's clearly not worthy of a white cat just yet.

He did have some great lines though ("Greg...doesn't look remarkable." - cut to Greg's bemused face). And yet AnOtHeR LaYeR oF eViL!!!!!111 has been revealed. I guess this new guy must be Jack's uncle or something.

The Larry Moss death scene was hilarious, but was unfortunately signposted the minute Agent Freckles said "Larry, be careful". Kim's appearance seemed pointless, aside from the requisite "get Kiefer to cry" scene. Will she stick around and cure Daddy?

Other unanswered questions:-

- Where the **** has Chloe gone? Yoga Bill has bought it, and she's nowhere in sight?
- Why are people now giving "real-time updates" left, right and centre? What kind of updates were they giving before? Do real-time updates require someone to be constantly on the phone to the White House? Who foots the telephone bill for that? If I was a US taxpayer, I'd be having words.

Bingo this week:

And so far:

Episode rating:
7.5/10

Jack Bauer Kill Count (so far):
24.5

Best moment:
The return of Evil Soul Patch.

Sparkyrob, I think you missed a square this episode. I believe Tony's accomplice played Travis Mayweather in Enterprise (Anthony Montgomery from IMDB but no 24 listing and I tend to ignore the cast lists!).

Useless trivia - re-watched The Perfect Storm this week and the Pres and her ex-Chief of Staff are together in that too, on the yacht that gets caught in the storm.

Hehe, it took less than 8 minutes for Jon Voight to get from the underground bunker at Starkwood (staring at the missiles) to the White House.

And yet in the next episode it takes about 30 minutes for (Spoiler for episode 19)
Spoiler:
Jack and Walker to get to the site where Larry was killed.

Nope, Galvez was played by Gabriel Casseus:
