That's for when you accidentally lose you cards or get them physically stolen. The point is that you have all your cards registered with them and if your wallet gets stolen, one call to them will sort out replacements and cancel the old cards without you having to ring around all the companies. This includes store cards and even things like AA or RAC cards, passport, etc. They will also sort out getting you some cash to cover you if you're desperate. They can also provide a means of reporting lost property direct to them (using labels) without having to have your address on display (e.g. on luggage).

They will also update all your cards when you move address.

You don't need it, and it won't protect you against fraud (doesn't need to as you're covered anyway). It's up to you however to decide if you want the hassle of ringing around all the companies, or pay to have someone do it for you. If you do go with one of these card protection schemes, you must remember to keep the list of cards up to date, something I've left far too long and must do myself .

The forums swear word filter would have removed it anyway if it wasn't allowed.

Hi

Something i read in another forum and might be of interest:

If you use the same DVDPacific old password in other online shops (in my case i had same password for all sites) better change them, just in case this damned hackers give them a try.

TheCrusher,
I mean I've used the same password hundreds of times over so I'm going to pretend/hope all of this never happened!

I already went and changed my password everywhere I've ever shopped. Those hackers are a waste of skin. Somebody put them out of their misery...please. I mean, if they have the time to do this, then they have TOO much time on their hands.

Or...since this seems to be tracked to a Russian/Ukraine site, then I suggest that the US govt pull all subsidiary funding from the Eastern Bloc and force them back into using an abacus. It seems that their new-found wealth is being used to buy PC's which are then used to defraud the countries that helped them in the first place!

Rant over - and no, not politically correct and probably not a politically viable option either... but it made me smile.

WTF? Weirdness continues!

Nothing obvious on my bank statement (and the two charges from DVDP for the goods I ordered are on there).

Just checked my statement and I have an unauthorized item on my cc

wbsale.com8667660556 REY IS for the amount of USD $256.99

Look like i'm not the only one to have been scammed by this lot in Iceland.

Hopefully EGG will sort it out like they have in the past.

Ok did a bit more digging and called WBSALE customer service last night..

Seems my card was charged via them by a company called Hardware4u.

They did not however have any contact details at all for this comany other than a URL which didn't work.

When I asked was it normal practice to allow a company to use their charging service with no contact details or proof they even exist they were very reluctant to answer. All they would say was they were expecting contact details in the next few days

If anyone else has more luck with wbsale.com keep us updated here....

Whee! I checked my Visa statement online today, and lo and behold I had a $34.95 charge from diage.com. (Fortunately, the email from dvdpacific had made me check...)

First Direct have refunded the charge, have cancelled my card and are issuing me with a new one. I've just followed the above advice and changed my one-password-fits-all on all the other sites I buy from.

Oh god I totally forgot about this email I got as at the time I too wasn't sure if it was real, and not followed up on it. Anyhow just check my credit card and nothing unknown was charge. I now logged in with the new password and change it straight away so should be safe now

I didn't get an email from DVDPacific, but when I logged in, it wouldn't accept my password, so I got a new one and changed it. Worried I'll see a charge on my c/c soon

Ive just had the diage.com charge and one from Janice Butler something or other.

Nationwide Fraud Dept. called me which was pretty good I think, as they noticed a patten of charges to some of their CC customers.

I explained the DVD Pacific details to them which they were unaware of, and they said it matched up with charges on other accounts!

I have a new CC in the post, and they are keeping my current card active (but no charges for me) so they can monitor where they are using the cards to try and trace them!
