Sachin 29-03-2005 21:20

kal ho na ho was his last venture

Munas 29-03-2005 23:39

Kal Ho Naa Ho was his last venture, but he didn't direct it. He produced and wrote it.

Films he's directed:
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Films he's written:
Kal Ho Naa Ho
Kaal

wouldn't mind a film like Kuch Kuch... best one I've seen since Dilwale...

didn't like Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham... thought it was too predictable, formulaic and a done to death story line...

I wouldn't mind a KKHH type of movie. Kal Ho Naa Ho wasn't quite as good but was good lightweight fun. It even inspired me to produce an animated video based on one of its songs. :)

I agree with backtothefuture on K3G. It just didn't work too well for me, although some scenes are great (the birthday party, for instance).

I'm sure he wouldn't have it any other way! ;)

Does anyone know what the new film will be about? I think Kaal is out soon and is meant to be an enviromental based thriller!

From what I've heard, It'll be based on Silsila.

Synopsis of Silsila
Quote:

Amit (Amitabh Bachchan) a poet decides to bury his past life along with his love for Chandni (Rekha) when he meets Shobha (Jaya Bachchan). Shobha's life has come to a standstill after her fiancé and Amit's brother Shekhar (Shashi Kapoor) dies in a plane crash.

Amit had only come to mourn the death of his brother with Shobha but ends up sacrificing his own love and life in an attempt to give Shobha a new lease of life.
When fate brings Amit and Chandni face to face again, both are married to different people - but neither can ignore their feelings for each other.

Silsila is a story, thwarted by society's demands, which reappears as adultery but can it survive in the face of society?

True. AB will probably get the role of a father who is against a marriage or something.
AB finds it hard to say no to Chopra's and Johar's because he is close firends with both families.
He needs to do more roles like Black. He was phenomenal in that, hard to see anyone in that role except The Legend.

Has anyone seen this? Haven't seen any reviews yet.

tejstar 08-08-2006 14:34

I don't think it's releaed until the 11th August.

ibster 09-08-2006 14:54

first review is up on Indiafm, dont read it unless you want to know exactly the whole storyline, Taran Adarsh is a bit of a plonker for doing that type of thing, anyway he has given it 4.5 out of 5, im gonna go watch it next Wednesday with the kids.

Adarsh is a bit of a plonker is every respect. The upcoming reviews at Rediff and Planet Bollywood should give a better indication of if the movie's any good or not. Looked quite dull judging by the trailer, but I'm keeping an open mind.

Rohail 10-08-2006 15:50

Isn't this suppose to be a copy of the american film Closer?

Cranberry 12-08-2006 10:21

Saw an interview with Karan Johar yesterday. He said that he didn't feel that it was a copy of Silsila or Closer. Not much happens in the trailer I have seen so difficult to tell what it's about at all

kanjar 12-08-2006 17:53

watched this film last night... heres what i thought of it..

First flop for Karan Johar (perhaps not at the box office), but be warned everyone that has seen this has told me its a pile of tosh, and too put it politely "you wouldn't watch this again," and these are diehard Shah Rukh Khan freaks! Haven't seen it myself so can't comment for sure....but boy did that trailer LOOK BORING! :nono:
