Long-time member, first time (I think) posting in the photography forum!

Anyway, my partner, daughter and I went to a portrait studio a couple of weeks ago and had about 30 photos taken, as it was part of a promotion they were doing in the local shopping centre.

We will be going along this Monday coming to pick up the main photo which we got for a tenner, pre-paid.

There are a number of offers they are doing that cost upwards of £70 minimum which mean we would get a 'proof set' as well as wallets and various size photos.

I'm not sure what this means exactly, but can I take this proof set into a Snappy Snaps say, and get all the photos developed/ blown up etc?

I don't want to waste £70 if all I end up with is a useless set of tiny photos that I can't do anything with.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Been sent PayPal gift by someone.

Can anyone experienced in receiving this type if Paypal tell me why the payment in my account says "payment type : instant" and then has a warning about charge backs below it?

I would have expected payment type to be gift and not mention chargebacks, as I was under impression PayPal gift could not be charged back?

Thanks

Having looked at the state of the charts etc over the last few years compared to say the 50s-80s, I can't say I've noticed a single black male who actually has the ability to sing.
What ever happened to all these groups, singer/song writers like Stevie Wonder? All they seem able to do today is talk (rap) in every single song which in my opinion, doesn't require anywhere near that level of talent.

Black women seem to be able to sing.

Welcome

Though I did consider at one point taking holiday for the Old Republic MMO and the Star Trek one a few years back I didnt bother in the end. I never would of gotten away with taking a sicky from school. I would assume alot of people either took the day off or called in sick when a COD game was released.

Adding Yahoo chat friends to MSN messenger - Not working.

I've read this is possible now, but after some attempts in either direction is just is not working for me, so I guess I (we) are doing something wrong.

I have Yahoo messenger running (which is what I wish to uninstall really as there are only 4 people I chat to ever on it)

I've gone into MSN live messenger and added Yahoo contacts (they get no notification of any request and it just says (in my MSN window) that they are offline.

On the other hand I've asked them to add me (my hotmail address) to their Yahoo service as a contact (windows live) and I get no friend request come through.

Might it be that I have an old ******hotmail.com email address?

Anything we might be doing wrong, as it "looks" like we are doing that's being asked of us, it's simple not working.

===== edit=====

I even just went into MSN and added my yahoo name and nothing has come up in yahoo messenger.
Just does not seem to work in either direction :(

Having set up the ip camera to watch the pet tortoise when we are out, it may be good to get a dynamic DNS so when the IP does change (virgin media on 10Mb) we dont lose the external connection.

so it looks like dyndns.org is the only option, but what is the best option, set the router to the setting so it updates, or set the dyndns to the ip camera?

so is there any 'best practice' about this?

Hi guys, hope someone here can help me. I came home tonight to find 7 flashing red lights on my Buffalo Linkstation Duo Pro. Searching around, it seems that I have a problem with the motherboard. I want to get the data off the drives (2x500gb drive in raid1 array) before I try to resurrect it, if at all possible. Can I just transfer one of the drives into another hdd enclosure and copy the data off? I read that the NAS firmware is stored on the drives? Will this interfere somehow? Many thanks for any help.

EDIT: On further reading, don't think I can, as it's a linux system? What are my options?
