Where's "Hypocrite" by Jack off Jill?
I downloaded that song cos I wanted to see who the hell JoJ were and what they sounded like. I don't think I've ever been so close to death-by-laughter before in my life.
The lead singer keeps making really high-pitched "Drrrreeeeeeeeeeep!" type sounds (her voice is about as appealing as dysentry) and as for the guitar playing (By the "god-like" HoHo I suppose?), it was just the biggest display of uncreativeness my ears have had the displeasure of being subjected to.

Amazing voice? I've heard people singing whilst gargling petrol and shards of broken glass that sound better than she does.
Her voice is so high it makes your ears ring.
Musically they sounded like all the other teeny-metal poo that I hear all to much of nowadays, hence the term "UNCREATIVE", "BAND WAGGON JUMPERS" etc, can be applied to them.

Just had a look at Jack off Jills site (http://www.jackoffjill.com/home.htm) and there a quality outfit. None of the links seem to work which is a shame as i really wanted to hear 'Spit and rape'.
Still the one called Robin looks quite fit for a goth chick so they've got something over Slipknot.:)

I hated every second of it.
Shouldn't your one goal in life to get a decent job, nice home and good quality of life (when you get older that is)? I don't think seeing some teenage-fad metal band should be high on your priority list :D

i wouldnt be so certain, she may grow out of listening to their music, and perhaps not listen to them so much- but still like them.
people who can can love a band one minute then hate them the next probably didnt like them to start with. and were indeed liking them just because it was a "craze",

I wouldn't go making long term claims about your taste in music as it will evolve as listen to more music. You've only been into rock music for a year (?) so you have heard very little of the music that's out there (I've been listening for 10 and I've only heard a very small amount!). You may still like Slipknot in 5 years, you may loathe them or you might be just indifferent.

An example of what I mean is when I first listened to rock (about 10 years ago) I liked Bon Jovi but now that I've listened to lots more rock I don't listen to them at all. I don't really dislike them but I've listened to dozens of better bands and my tastes have changed.
I'm sure this happens to everyone and if you ask anyone they'll be able to name at least one band they used to really like that they just don't listen to anymore.
I hope that makes what I'm saying clear but if it doesn't just ignore me and go listen to Slipknot! :D

As mentioned previously, the track Bother off the Spiderman sountrack is a good tune, and if you like both sides of Corey Taylors voice (Slipknot and the slow track) I'd recommend getting the Stone Sour album when it's released on the 28th August. It's not as extreme as the Slipknot stuff, and has the track Bother on it as well.
It's a more accesible album than the Slipknot ones, and frankly I find it slightly better. I think you can DL some samples off the Stone Sour web site.
Oh yeah, and I do like Slipknot as well... :p

Heard so much about their live show, and i thought it was crap. After American Head Charge had rocked the place, they came on and played their songs and that was all.

lol, wow it is nearly 2 years old..... i'm quite supprised some heartless demon hasnt taken away the joys of a slipknot thread as well!....

However this thread is quite big and with new Slipknot material due soon it may as well be closed. Someone can start a fresh thread when/if needed (not just for the sake of it).
