View Full Version : The Exorcist : Spider Walk Scene
OK, perhaps I'm being stupid here .. I recently purchased "the Exorcist : The Version You've never seen", and I just can't find the Spider Walk scene anywhere.
Can anyone out there tell me where on the DVD this scene is ?
Many thanks,
Dave.
Thought the spider walk scene was spliced back into the film due to it being the directors "version you haven't seen before" cut.

The scene is in the main feature - can't remember where exactly but it is certainly one of the scenes added to the new version.

I haven't actually gotten around to watching this yet but going by the chapter list in the R1 it looks like chapter 23.

Just to clarify, the new version is not a "director's cut" - it's the writer/producer's cut. William Friedkin considers the original 1973 release version to be the definitive one, and it was his decision to remove the spider walk scene.
From what I remember from reading/watching stuff, isn't it just after Chris hears that Burke is dead?

Stupid mistake, Blatty made Friedkin include it and he did it to shut him up if I remember correctly.
I've checked out the scene where it is supposed to be, and it just isn't there.
You do get to see the scene at the very end of the documentary on the other side of the disc, but I thought it was put back in the film ? (At least that is what the DVD packaging implies...)
Does anyone have a counter reading on the scene ?
Thanks,
Dave.
P.S. This is the Region 2 version of the film.
Ah-ha!
You've bought the 20th Anniversary Edition, which I have, not The Version You Have Never Seen.

Yep, I have The Version You've Never Seen Before, and it is definitely in it.
Check the Barcode number on the DVD case, (not the outer case cover). If it’s the same as mine, it should read 321900186322.
Well this is really weird! The DVD Cover AND the DVD Case both say "The Version You've Never Seen" The Barcode is 321900186322.
I think those idiots at WHSmith have gone and put the wrong DVD in the case !
Thanks for all your help !
Dave.

No big suprise there then
BTW,the scene as written in the book is far scarier than when it was put on film.
