View Full Version : In Car DVD Players
Does anyone have experience of using DVD players in cars? I am aware that you can buy portable players circa £500, but are there any cheaper options e.g. powering a standard player from a 12V converter and linking the output to standard 7" LCD screens.
TIA

Dixons seem to be selling a car dvd kit at the moment for 399 quid. It is a fairly small but boxy dvd player and an lcd screen that fits over the headrest in the back. Might be worth a look. I think it runs off the car battery
oh and btw, If you look at my thread in the bargain forum, I picked up a shinco portable for 275 quid last week with a car adapter.

a few options, get a DIN unit with screen and inbuilt dvd player. Get a mobile dvd player and a separate screen. Or, a DIN size dvd player and a separate screen. Oh, or DIN screen with mobile dvd player. Best would be to get a copy of max power and check out the ads at the back. Can cost from £350 to er... no limits...

yeah they are cool, but unless you drive a limo i really cant see the point! If the screen goes on the headrest in the back, then its an expensive way of amusing the people in the back seat.
Save your money or buy a new dvd player for the house and watch it from the comfort of the sofa!
