I'm after a copy of the Brazil CC Boxset, and have been checking Ebay regularly for a copy at a decent price.
Today, I noticed this auction (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1521691787) in which the seller claims the DVD is now deleted.
Is this a load of bull, or should I try and get a copy sooner rather than later?
Thanks.
PS. If anyone wants to sell me a copy, that would be great.
This has NOT been deleted.
Check http://www.criterionco.com/asp/release.asp?id=51 and compare it one that has (eg, http://www.criterionco.com/asp/release.asp?id=21) and notice that the OP ones have text to say that on the LHS of the main description.
The OOP ones are also signified on the main list - http://www.criterionco.com/asp/browse.asp
;)
I picked up a copy from www.amazon.com about 2 weeks ago so I think someone is telling porkies.
I'm not sure what kind of price you are looking to pay but my copy cost £39.00 and I have since noticed that there are some 'money off' vouchers on the supplier or bargin forum.

Those nice people at dvdboxoffice (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com) have just reduced the price of their Criterions, and Brazil is on offer at just under £31.

Not sure where you got that price from, it looks like £49.99 at Play to me. Did you see it somewhere else for £33?
John
Thanks for the info about DVD Boxoffice, I think I'll order it from them. However, the price will be nearer £33 (£32.77 using the current exchange rate of $1.423 to £1), the exchange rate would have to be greater than $1.50 to make it less than £31, and it hasn't been that good for some time.
Thanks anyway.

The cheeky monkeys! Their website's currency convertor is using an out of date rate of exchange??!!
Actually their conversion of $69.95 Canadian comes to £30.81, but xe.com, which uses live rates, makes it £31.0148, which is as near to £31 as dammit...

I got the Brazil criterion and another one from Amazon using one of the £10 vouchers from the bargain forum. No customs either (And they came in a large box :D
Haven't watched it yet though...
DVD Planet has also got for £33 including shipping.

I've ordered from DVD Boxoffice, and hopefully it may cost as little as £31 if they use the Canadian dollar price in the conversion.
So, does anyone know what Boxoffice are like with regards to customs charges?

Marked as 'd'un cadeau' by DVDboxoffice (a gift - which indeed it is at that price), it should sale through.

DVD BO do charge in Canadian (that is the default and you have to actually select US on check-out) and they have a good customs reputation.

As posted elsewhere, Play have increased their Criterion range to a total of 55 titles. SOme prices have changed and are not bad, (although not as good as Boxoffice), for example Brazil has been reduced from £49.99 to £39.99.
