Sorry if this has been answered b4, but what is the difference between Pro-Logic II and Dolby Digital 5.1?

Is one Digital and one Analog?

You are corrert, DPII splits a analog singnal into 5 channels (speakers) and i must say it really does sound great on DVDs that don'nt have a DD 5.1 soundtrack.

Also very good in Console games as well. If you have the option to buy a amp with DPII then defiantly go for it. Rizel

I'm not 100%, but I thought DP2 only enhances ProLogic 1 into the 5 channels? Can it do it on stereo signals as well? Or do some consoles output DPL1?

Aslong as its a 'Stereo' then you should be OK. Works with Audio CDs anyway. Rizel
