View Full Version : Michael Jackson: Michael - 14th December 2010
So, new MJ (or is it?) album out in a month and no thread?
All brand new tracks from the vaults.
First single is streaming here http://breakingnews.michaeljackson.com/
Conspiracy theorists are out in force already claiming it's not him - and it doesn't sound like him IMO - but this guy:
http://www.myspace.com/jasonmalachi
He worked with the producer and did some MJ sounding tracks and had Sony affiliations.

Here he is as an MJ dead-ringer singer.
Could this be the biggest music scandal since Milli Vanilli? Have Sony got totally punked?
Album cover is awful.

Yeegads at that album cover!
Haven't listened to any of the tracks, but the guy spent most of the last decade of his life doing bugger all of any musical note. It wouldn't surprise me if he'd created SOMETHING in that timeframe.
He was supposed to have been hugely prolific in the studio and have a tonne of stuff buried away. It's more a question of how much of it was finished and have the powers that be brought someone else in to 'finish stuff off' using another vocalist and passing it off as Jackson.
Katherine and the kids claiming that 4 or 5 songs on the album aren't Michael.

The album cover is absolutely stunning. But you need to see a proper pic of it, and be a hardcore MJ fan to notice all the various homages in it. If that first song really is MJ I'll eat my hat.

The album cover is absolutely stunning. .
It looks like a piece of fan art done by some one on day release.

It's like something you see painted on the side of a waltzer at the fair.

What's the betting half of this album will be songs we've heard a million times before, on a million versions of a "best of" album but with slightly different backing tracks or remixes.
I found the "This Is It" album to be an absolute joke. Advertised as having 6 unreleased songs, when in reality four of them were demo's of old songs, and the last two were studio and "orchestral" versions of "This Is It" which was basically just the same thing but without vocals.
Michael Jackson was a huge part of my childhood and I enjoyed his music right up to his death (and beyond), but the studio's still profiting from him after his death is disgusting, and I wouldn't be half surprised if soundalikes were brought in to finish up songs. Has there been any word on where the profits go?

It's not - it's 10-12 brand new tracks.
Single is awful...

I quite liked Breaking News, but the new single is pretty awful I agree!
It's more Akon than MJ. But it will do well. Even though I hate it.

I'm listening to the stream on the Jackson Facebook page; '(I Can’t Make It) Another Day' standing out for me as the best track so far.
Didn't know about this, my son loves MJ and considered buyiong this for him, until I saw that 50 cent appears.
No thanks, the most talentless, charisma free man in entertainment today.

Liking that track too...but for me the new version of Behind the Mask is the true gem here, really loving that. It must be said the album as a whole is actually not the train wreck was semi expecting...

I imagine to pay-off his (still apparently massive) debts.
It's a shame there isn't a version of Monster without 50 Cent butting in.
