After success with the Beatles compilation CD (thread) (http://forums.thedigitalfix.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=597669) I did a while back (which is very much liked) I thought I'd have another go.
Am after happy family singalong songs for long car journeys, that won't drive the parents mad after the first listen ! So not Postman Pat theme, and the like.
This is what I've got so far, but there's not much variety and hardly any female vocalists. I'll happily drop one of the Madness and one of the Blues Bros tracks for something else, plus I'm not at all sure about the Sound of Music track or the Lenka one (was this a UK hit ?), but I'm struggling for female artists (and for recent songs !).
Mum & Dad are both ~40yo, and like REM/Smiths/Madness/S.Vega/Jewel/B.N.Ladies - to get repeated plays, and not get thrown out of the window, I'm thinking the CD will need to cater for their tastes a bit too !
Thanks. :)
Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy
Boris Pickett - Monster Mash
Buster Poindexter - Hot Hot Hot
Jungle Book - The Bare Necessities (Reprise)
Lou Bega - Mambo No.5
OMC - How Bizarre
The Proclaimers - I'm gonna be (500 Miles)
Was (Not Was) - Walk The Dinosaur
Andy Stewart - Donald Where's Your Trousers
Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian
Beach Boys - Surfin' Usa
Blues Brothers - Everybody Needs Somebody To Love
Blues Brothers - Theme from rawhide
Madness - One Step Beyond
Madness - Our House
Men at Work - Down Under
Maria - My Favorite Things (Sound of Music OST)
DNA featuring Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner
Mc Hammer - U Cant Touch This
OutKast - Hey Ya!
REM - Furry Happy Monsters
Lenka - The Show
The Cure - The Lovecats [Acoustic]
Sheryl Crow - Here Comes The Sun
