Credit rating impact due to lender mistake

I have a finance agreement with Ikano and setup a direct debit with them. They made a mistake at their end which meant that they failed to take the first direct debit and I went into arears.

Does this impact my credit rating? They were not able to say one way or the other. If it does, what can I do about it?

It could although once rectified / paid it should be shown you are not in arrears.

However if not corrected at their end it could show you missed a payment.

Best to get a copy of your credit report to check.
