Been hearing quite a bit of these on 6 Music and bought their latest EP which came out yesterday and they are quite promising. Not in any way 'cool' (kinda like Housemartins covering slow Libertines songs) but they have a lovely knack for melody and their singer has one of those effortless Morrissey/ Pete Docherty vocals.

Backstreet Lovers is indeed 'lovely' but their slower efforts are intriguing too. Can't wait for their album to see what direction they go, as their more recent material seems more up-tempo.

Anyway, a nice British band. Nice.

I saw them play at a house party in Sheffield a few years back, good to see them getting air play.

I've never really understood the appeal of Britpop.

Saw them play the Festival Republic tent at Reading, was quite impressed with them. Thught they sounding a little Arctic Monkeys, but that could just have been the Sheffield thing

Not really britpop though is it? This is more like pre-Madchester indie of the 80's.

Anyway - a good find Lou. Will certainly check out more of their stuff :)

Some of their faster material does kinda, but the appeal of what I have heard so far, is it is pretty varied. Some very slow material, and then the full-ahead Libertines-esque stuff. Really enjoyed the EP looking forward to the full-length debut for sure.
