Looks - OK. I have to admit that I found season 2 quite disappointing - just not as much fun as season 1. Hope this isn't going to go too "dark".

Looks awesome, season 2 was superb building on a very solid season 1. This looks like it is going to get even better.

Season 3 has been a disappointment so far - the opener wasn't good, episode 2 was "ok" and episode 3 was just diabolically awful.

Dear god, an episode devoted to boring characters we've never seen talking about trade disputes. Who's great idea was that ?

Writing credits for that one were "Baron Papanoidia"?

The Jar Jar one was - as to be expected - dire, but the latest was much better. Lots of references to the original trilogy from the cantina in Mos Eisley to detention blocks that mirrored the one on the death star. Not as good as the opener and still full of trade blockade bobbins, but not bad at all. I bet the real Lucas can't move that fast though...

Thanks to the free Sky Movies weekend I got to see episodes 1 and 2 yesterday.

That was a strange way to start a new season, with an episode featuring none of the main characters! I wasn't really paying attention, but I also didn't realise until quite late that it was a flash-back to before season 1!

The second episode was pretty cool, but how many times can Grievous and Ventress keep failing in their missions, and managing to escape from the Jedi?

Tonight's US episode 'Heroes on Both Sides', features brand new character models for the main characters, including a new, older, Ahsoka

I don't think some of the early episodes of this season were up to season 2 standards but I enjoyed this last trilogy of episodes (episodes 15-17 I think). On the whole, The Clone Wars has been very good and I think it adds quite a bit to the more recent movie trilogy and maybe even make them better as a result.

Did you catch ep15 where they showed a fully grown Ahsoka, actually looked quite :luv:

I thought the first half of season 3 was poor. It feel into some of the worst traits of the prequels, going on about banking & trade committees etc... Since it has returned post Christmas though it has been excellent, loads of foreshadowing and nods to future events or just little in jokes and moments.

Excellent two part ending, I thought, with the added bonus of the wookiee. Agreed that after a few dire episodes early on (they should never, ever do another politics based episode - or another Jar Jar one), things got much better in the second half.
Apparently that'll be the tone for season 4, so that's promising.

Also thought that the CGI in the last episode was phenomenal - they're starting to rival the quality of feature animation, which is quite incredible.

wasn't lucas involved earlier on? even voiced a character?

would explain why the early eps sucked!

One of the characters was based on him but he didn't do the voice. It was actually an OK episode, it featured Jabb and the cantina too.

It was much better then the ones that talked about blockades and taxes. God only knows why they still think that's appropriate for Star Wars.

The whole thing's still miles better than the prequel trilogy, though.

Blogomatic3000 have reviews of every episode of season 3. Last two are defo the best IMO. Season 4 starts a lot later in the year, hope it's more like the last 5 episodes than the rest of the series.

Has anyone seen the one off Lego Clone Wars episode?

It was pure genius and hilarious through and through. Seek it out if you're even slightly interested in Star Wars.

Review above.

Correct full title was Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace

As the reviewer says, it actually puts Robot Chicken and Family Guy's parodies to shame it's that good.

I hope I haven't oversold it! It's a very different style to the Family Guy and Robot Chicken parodies. So let me back track from it being massively better, just very very funny in a different way.

Thanks, that does sound excellent. I wonder if Cartoon Network will be showing this in the UK, or if I have missed it already?

Blu-Ray details here: http://starwars.com/fans/media_news/lego_star_wars_padawan_menace_blu_ray/index.html

...but exclusive to Walmart. :(

The Padawan Menace had its first UK showing last night.

I LOVED it. :notworthy

Such a great homage to the movies (with a few digs too!).

Have pre-ordered the Blu-Ray from Tesco (http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/blu-ray/star-wars-lego-the-padawan-menace-bluray--exclusive/8:781354/).

Mega expensive for a 22 minute feature! But at least it comes with a cool (and exclusive) young Han Solo figure. :D
