I want to connect my PC to my TV so I have just bought from Argos a £39.99 Wharfedale (Bush in the catalogue) HDMI/DVI connection kit. It comes with an HDMI cable and two HDMI to DVI adaptors.

It all works fine but I think I will be taking it back for a refund as I realise I could do it a lot cheaper. Could I not just buy a cheap HDMI -> HDMI lead, stick the HDMI end in my TV and then the other end into a DVI -> HDMI adaptor? So the DVI adaptor goes into the PC and the HDMI lead plugs into that.

If I AM correct, does anyone know where on the high street I can find a cheap DVI -> HDMI adaptor? Cheapest is Maplin for £19.99!!!

Thanks.

Couple of quid from ebay, just make sure you get the right male/female connector for your needs, don't think you'll find one cheap on the high street.

These used to be included with all DVI graphics cards and I had boxes of the things. Now they are like rocking horse and unbelievably expensive for what they are on the high street.
