Hi,

I've noticed MVC are doing some Manga type films for £9.99.

I aint seen much Manga but like the look, etc.... - only thing similar (vaguely maybe) i have seen is Akira, which I love.

The titles I remember are Ghost in the Shell, Vampyre - the last blood? and streetfighter.

Anyone fancy letting me know if these are any good, and indeed whether the versions mvc are selling are good quality, etc...?

thanks folks!!!

I've got Ghost in the Shell, which is a pretty good disc, especially if it's only £10, although I didn't enjoy it as much as Akira. The only thing to be aware of with GitS is that although it's anamorphic you'll have to set your tv to widescreen manually, if you've got a widescreen tv that is. Something to do with the disc not encoded to tell the tv it's anamorphic, or something :)

I believe Blood:The Last Vampire's okay, if a little short at about 45 minutes.

I was planning to go into MVC next time I'm in Manchester to see what they've got on offer.

Ghost in the Shell, Vampyre - the last blood (surely you mean Blood the last vampire ?) are both v good and a bargain at £10. I do seem to remember a lip sync problem on Ghost In The Shell, I have the R2 version and it seems ok to me. Blood is quite short @ roughly 40 minutes but is very well animated and has good surround sound.

I'd go for it if I were you :)

I bought Blood:The Last Vampire from MVC for a tenner during the week.

It is short at 45 minutes (40 excluding the credits) but I found it enjoyable. Looks and sounds great and was like a cross between Blade and Buffy. It had the feel of a TV/OVA episode with a bigger budget.

Also, as Dave Foster's (not sure if he's Kanedaa on here?) review at DVDTimes points out there's an interview with a member of the staff who has a cartoon dog on his jumper that blinks. Well it amused me anyway :D
