Rules

1. Matches are to be played on a home and away basis. I suggest these are played in the same session one after the other to keep the league moving at a decent pace.

2. The setting for the matches are :-

6 minute halves

3. The bottom 3 teams in the division will be relegated. The top 3 promoted.

4. If a player drops out of the league, his results will be removed from the records.

5. Disconnections - If the match disconnects:-

0 - 15 mins - restart with the scores reset
15 - 45 mins - restart with the scores of the 2 games combined.
45 - 70 mins - the 2nd half host restarts, with the game ending at half time. The scores of the 2 games are combined.
70 - 90 mins -The 2nd half hosts restarts a 5 minute game which will end at half time. The scores of the 2 games are added together.

6. Results should be posted in the thread as soon as possible after playing the matches. Post offical results in BOLD.

7. Any player who doesn't play within the published deadlines will be removed and banned from the following season. If a player gets removed in a second season, they will receive a lifetime ban.

8. Lag – If you experience lag in the first half of the match, you must disconnect within the first 10 minutes of playing time. Any goals scored in these 10 mins will not count, when the match is restarted.

9. Matches should be arranged in the season thread, so please check the thread regularly.

10. And most importantly.........NO BITCHING

Yep, premiership have 2.5 star teams, championship has 3 star teams.

Anybody can change teams if they want as long they're the same star rating (or worse), than the rating of your division.

Changes must be made by friday.

If somebody has the time & patience to plough through all the 2.5* or 3* teams in the hope of finding a hidden gem then fair play to them.

For those of us that can't be arsed to do this, teams have been randomly allocated.

The option to swap is there for everybody.

Although the default squad has all the worst players in it i.e 50-60's. Theres a few 70's in the reserves so that might have something to do with the low ratings.

They weren't all cutbacks and chips. At least one was a three tap cross along the deck :)

Gotta play to your strengths. Qpr are small up front so through balls a plenty are the order of the day. Crosses are a waste of time with such a small offence.

Don't get the negativity surrounding cut backs or squaring the ball. It's a major part of real football.

Yep i was clinging on at the end of the second game, Although you only really missed a couple of clear cut chances. The rest were final balls that i'd just managed to cut out.

First game: Two crap teams, in the snow. :lol: A pretty dire match really, though Sylvain Wiltord was on fire for me - a tap in for me first half and another two second half. Harsh on rawowl who was even for much of the first half.

Second game: Ah, sunny and green grass! I felt a bit more in control of this one, though a number of my goals were quite fortunate truth be told such as GK rebound or defenders tackling each other.

How unlucky was you in this one jonny. in the 1st game you hit the woodwork twice and then scored. i managed a goal in the 2nd and very nearly stole it in the last few minutes, very unlucky i should have lost that one.

The 2nd game i played better but jonny missed several good chances at 0-0. I managed to take my chances. Matty Fryatt and Matt Oakley were imense.

am really happy i actually took some points although it should have been more against matt i hammered the woodwork countless times first game and the second game was a ea lets not do you any favours kind of game,the kind wear if i was through on goal with only the net i would trip on a dog turd:lol:


those games helped me decided my team against nils i needed more power up front and more flair and aggresion in the middle

so decided to ditch all my strikers and play my 2 wingers up front with 2 defenders in the middle and oakley and salano playing the passes this worked very nice and i caught nils on the break a few times

highlight for me was a through ball to dyer who ran onto it and lobbed the keeper from outside the box with his first touch :clap:

Pretty much gave up after the 2nd goal of the 1st game. Wiltord was unplayable and made a tough enough task even harder. In comparison the finishing of my players was ridiculously poor. Just didn't enjoy the games really as I was always on the back foot. Well played though.

First game was harsh on Teasal as it was very tight for the last 20 minutes when I scored 3 more goals to make the scoreline inflated.

Second game Teasal was even more harshly done. Pegged back in my own half for the majority of the game, he opened the scoring with a lovely half volley after 5 minutes.
Wiltord equalised for me with a beaut of a curler from outside the box, before dead on half-time I grabbed the lead.
Second half it was backs against the wall but I held on to record an undeserved win.

Kudos on your patient play, you don't up against it very often and it was working well for you. I was also having to get control of my fullbacks very early on to ensure they tracked your wingers runs! Rode my luck a bit in the 2nd game, probably a draw would've been fairest. As usual, a lesson in how to play the game :)
First game i could do nothing, every 50/50 ball went your way!!
Second game i was a little more hopeful and was hoping to keep it at 2-1 for halftime as i was actually making a few chances, unfortunaly while trying to break away i gave the ball away and Jamin countered perfectly for the third.

PJG was robbed first game, he was all over me and only some cool finishing from counter attacks got the goals, my GK being MotM!
Second one was more of the same although I had a few more legit attacks, but again I think I scored more or less from every attack and PJG was hitting woodwork, GK and defenders on the line, it was shocking luck.

You were really unlucky in the second game, your defending was great through most of the game, kept making my strikers go wide then cutting out my crosses, i managed to come back with 80th and 85th min goals, i did nearly get through in the 87th but to be honest i didn't really deserve a point in this game so would have felt bad if i did poach the win, well, for a few seconds :n0rty:

I was lucky to get a draw in the 1st game with jimmy hitting the woodwork a few times and some quality saves from my keeper. 2nd game i had all the ball but just couldn't break Jimmy down. That summed up my goal scoring when i miss from 2 yard out and put it wide accross the face of the goal.

Just a bit, absolute nightmare for me, the ball just didn't drop for me at all. What was really annoying me was that every time you were in the box I knew you were going to fake and cut inside but my defender always kept running past leaving you 1 on 1. Well played anyway mate.

Yeah those were games which reminded me exactly why I took a break from the league, whole team just fell apart, friendly A.I. could have been playing on the other team, could have won the 2nd in the last minute with a header that had to hit the underside of the bar to bounce out and then got stuffed on the counter.

Oh and could people have the decency to reply to messages when you ask them whether they want to play their match or not? A simple 'Not right now thanks' is a lot more polite than leaving them waiting for 10 minutes to figure out you're ignoring them.

fifa 10 is steaming pile of cow ****. if its happens for you then its a great game, but when keepers are making the kind of saves that are almost impossible and your forwards are missing open goals (at the end of the day its just pressing a ******* button) it does have you goin nuts at the tv, xbox, controller, wife etc :)
