Hi,
Just to give you an idea on my set up I have may help with an answer to my question.
Pc in dining room with sound [wma files] going as a split from the pc to my 2.1 by the pc then into the 5.1 AV in the living room.
I have my ps3 & xbox HDMI wired to my tv & to my pc monitor with sound going to both 2.1 & 5.1.
PC has all music & video ISO stored. I stream ISO only to PS3 via router using PS3 Media Server.
I have a 32in HD ready TV in the bedroom with 5.1 DVD system.
My goal is to:
1. Keep all hardware downstairs but be able to have the same music [using winamp] playing on the pc & 5.1 downstairs but also upstairs streaming to the 5.1 system.
2. Also would love to stream ISO wirelessly to upstairs TV.
3. Also stream of ps3 & xbox to upstairs TV.
If I have this right 1&3 would have to be hard wired. 2 would require a streamer like Xtreamer?
The real question is, is this my only solution as I dont really want to have more wires running round the house?
