A question for the hardcore pro's!

Do any of you "pros" out there take on intern type assistants? Am thinking spending some time with someone when they do proper shoots will give me more experience and insight than anything I could ever muster on my own.

Anyone ever done this, or would the serious people stay away from having someone tag along as too annoying?!

The few pros I know are 50/50 on it - some take on unpaid interns regularly and others (probably the less traditional 'togs) think of it as a bit exploitative.

It is the traditional way into the industry though - a guy I know (vaguely) did a brief internship with Rankin as well as working with the 'togs from a local studio and since then has become damn successful for an 18yr old - damn him!
