I have always been in the Nikon camp, so when looking to replace my D40 I choose the D90 to keep a lot of the stuff I already had, but seen as I lost everything in a fire I thought it would be remiss to not at least look at the dark side. What is the "equivalent" to the D90?
Any one tried them both and can give a comparison? Would it be easy to change without having to learn everything again from scratch?

Currently its the 50D but thats due replacement any day now.
50D is 15mp , 6.5fps, 15pt af, OK viewfinder etc.
60D will likely be 18mp 6.5fps, 15pt focus, 1080 video , live view etc.
I've not used a 50D much but a 40D plenty and a D90 a bit.
IMO not a lot between them, I prefer the canons ergonomics, the nikon stuff feels like you need 3 hands or a few extra fingers but I guess its what your used to.
Take a look at the lens lineups both have some advantages ( 17-55f2.8IS vs 35f1.8AF-S etc).

Yes, the basics are the same, just need to learn the equivelant for AF and meetering modes etc.
