Looking for a new multi-region DVD player, my HDMI Tevion player I bought from Aldi a couple of years back seems rather knackered - when playing R1 (or any disc I guess, I don't usually play R2 on it) it quite often has issues, the picture and sound break up and eventually the film comes to a halt. I've tried cleaning the drive with a disc but it doesn't seem to help.

So any recommendations? I've got my PS3 for Blu-Ray, though I did consider that Foehn & Hirsch player that was in the Bargain forum, though that seemed a bit cheap + cheerful too. I was hoping by now I could pick up a good solid-quality multi-region DVD player that doesn't cost too much (i.e. under £70).

If you're prepared to pay £70 you may as well buy a blu-ray player with multi-regional DVD playback. The new Sony BDP-S370 was going for £99.99 a couple of days ago in a Play.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=2) / Amazon.co.uk (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8) price war. There's also the Philips BDP3000 blu-ray player for £79.99 at Amazon.co.uk (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=8) although its not on par with the Sony.
