I've tried the obvious things ( I'm not an expert but can read a manual ;) ) and am now at a loss..

I have a Proline 2000 ( with dts logo ) which I have connected up to a Technics SADX1050 ( also with dts logo ) No problems playing dvd's normally but when I try to play DTS discs I'm not getting any sound at all. I've checked the Proline's menu and DTS is selected, I've also run through the troubleshooting options on my Technics. Because the little dts logo is not coming up on the Technics I tried the option, outlined in the manual, of holding down the Digital input button and selecting DTS fix - when I do this the dts light comes on but still no sound....

Any ideas of where I go from here?

Yep.... but I'm sure it must be something that simple!:D

May sound stupid, but have you got it connected by optical, digital co ax lead? If not and you are using phonos you will not get any sound.

Also which discs have you tried? You may have to manually select the dts soundtrack.........

For DTS to work the player has to be connected to the amp digitally - either coax or optical (not the red/white standard phonos), and make sure 'bitstream' is selected in the players output menu.

and both of you have hit the proverbial nail on the head :D Went back to the manual and re-read from page 1 - almost instantly came to the 'connecting digital equipment' section..... Aplogies.. I'm a girl and neither dvd player or amp came with the needed lead!!!!
