View Full Version : PS3. Frozen while Updating system software

I've just tried to update the system software on my PS3 to 3.30. The system has been disconnected from the Net for a while.
The system seems to have frozen at a screen about not being able to use Linux after the update.
I don't have a Controller as I only use the PS3 for Blu-Ray playback, and only have the Sony Blu-Ray Handset. This seems to have stopped working as the light on the front which flashes when I use the controller doesn't flash any more
Any one have any idea how to sort this out ? Would attaching a wired controller work?

Thanks

Steve

I know you've said you don't use it for gaming, but you will probably get a better response in the gaming forum.

I think you have to use a controller to accept the downgrade. Also, it does not allow the analogue stick to proceed, you must use the d-pad on the controller.

In one of the FW they managed to mess up some blutooth devices for these screens. So grab a controller and all will be well.
