Great DVD single of "Tomorrow comes today".
Even tho it's only encoded in DD 2.0, it does have a higher bit rate, 420 me thinks. Great video and another top tune.

Another great DVD single out last week, allthough, another dodgy soundtrack, was "breathe" by Telepopmusik. Brilliant video.

I'm getting addicted to these DVD single type thingies.

Any one else suffer?

yep - I'm all for DVD singles, but only when the video to the single in question is present. I've noticed too many which have some sort of snippet of somethingorother with the single just an audio version - pointless. I'm glad the Gorillaz have entered the fray with DVD singles and I'll pick this one up certainly. I do have a lot of 'em now and I hope it gets more popular.

The Ian Brown single is a recent example.
The song is audio only, and a poorly encoded DD 2.0 at that.
The video is of an interview with Anthony wilson, allthough very good, will not live up to repeated viewing.

The music should always have the best possible encoding. Otherwise we'll, in a way, be getting an inferior product to the cd version.

Cheers
Roy.

I have never bought a DVD single, but I think I will give it a go.

OK, I'd recommend The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar. This is widescreen and coded in PCM and sounds so good when turned up loud.

Also the Bjork ones are good, especially the Pagan Poetry one (Nice video  ) Also Super Furry Animal ones are good (As is their album DVD)

Some of the others avoid, as above states encoded in Dolby Digital 2.0 and sound crap. PCM only for DVD singles please. And for those who like their DTS then make sure its encoded correctly like the NIN DVD

Thanks for the recommendations
I like Super fury animals, so I think I will start with that. Can’t stand Bjork though.

Surely its better for the single to be in 2.0 because the studio track wouldnt of been recorded with the intention of being heard in 5.0.

The recent Beta Band DVD single for Squares is worth picking up, if you're remotely interested in them - quite a good video and some interesting other bits (home movie footage, acoustic track, etc).
