Is this player any good?

One other quick question, is it multiregion as standard or does it allow you to select the region.

I've heard that if you can't select the region manually it won't play certain rce protected dvd's?

theres been quite a few discussions about the 444, worth doing a search :)

Its not multiregion as standard if you go buy it from the highstreet stores, but if you mean somewhere like homecinemaheven then they are auto region, but can also be manual for rce discs.

Agree with above; search the forums and past reviews (TOTAL DVD,etc.).

It really depends on price and what you are going to hook it up to but, yeah its not a bad machine and Pioneer have a pretty good reputation for after sales problems.
