*urgent help - missing disc from boxset

i ordered my die hard box set about a month ago from HMV canada and it prompty came within a week to my home. But i was away at uni, so i i've not had the chance to get back down to london and open it up...

when i did open it yesterday (i'm home now) from it's shrink wrap (only one clear wrap across the box set) i eventually got to Die Hard with A Venegence and to my ABSOLUTE horror i discovered that that was no disc 2!!! no extras disc in the double amray case!!

i've 1 day to go until the 30 day return policy is void..

obviously i shall e-mail them.. but is the best tactic to send the whole boxset away immediately by registered mail, rather than wait around for a reply from their e-mails depatment...

i can't believe die hard with avengence didn't have disc 2. :( :rolleyes: :mad:

what should i do?

you could phone them up, I guess, and make sure you get the name of the person you are speaking to (good to have a reference)

Ring them.

They might say that there is no need to send all the DVDs back to them.

If they're any good, tthey might send it out to you without even asking you to send anything to them at all.

As Stevey said, definitely get the name of the person you talk to.

ah heck.. got to the post office at 12.32pm. 2 minutes after closing time.. :(

now it'll be outside the 30 day return policy. :rolleyes:

looks like i need to phone 'em.

I've packed the reciept into the box and taped it up.. so:

3 questions:
1. Does anyone have the depot phone number on their HMV canada recipt?
2. Does Anyone know the dial code for Canada? (directory enquires will know i guess).
3. What's the time difference to Canada?

I spoke to a lady there, got her name and she informed me that they didn't have the single disc at the momment.. so she said i should send back the whole boxset and they'd send a replacement.
A bit of a nuisance, but still, overall, a result.

least i can the "elusive" 2nd disc.

Why oh why did u buy it from Canada anyway? Cant you get Die HArd on DVD over here? Its no TV enough times!!

...and the DVD's are superior on R1, simply because you can get all three movies in the one set, unlike over here...

Still, the downside of importing your DVD's is when/if you ever need to return one! Sounds like HMV Canada are pretty cool.

several reasons:
1. r1 boxset - all 3 movies - no such UK equivaleent for all 3 in a box, and by looks of it, never will be.
2. r1 boxset cheaper at canada (with coupons) by about £12-13 as opposed to ordering from Play247
3. r1 boxset is STILL cheaper than the UK boxset for only the first 2 movies..

So the question should be rather:
why oh why buy it from the UK? Cant you get Die HArd on DVD elsewhere?
but hell, if you want to get a raw deal buying UK discs all the time, then the choice is yours..
