Not sure if this will be repeated, but its quite a startling documentary about Robert King - a war photo-journalist. Check it out, if you can.

Chris - I'd recommend you read Don McCullin's autobiography, Unreasonable Behaviour, if the subject interests you.
Gives a pretty stark insight into the **** war correspondents can go through - I find it fascinating, wrote my dissertation at uni on conflict photography.

DHB - Indeed it does. If I wasn't Keith Flint when I went to see McCullin's exhibition at the National War Museum North, I probably would have picked up a couple of his books. I love books :luv: I'll keep an eye out for it

Well then, I'd suggest picking up a copy of "The Photographer: Into War-Torn Afghanistan with Medicins Sans Frontiers", and also "Shooting Under Fire" by Peter Howe.
First is a combination of conflict photography and graphic illustration telling the story of a photographer's journey with medics into Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation, and is brilliant. The second is a collection of accounts and photographs from several renowned war photographers, spanning numerous conflicts.
It's a fascinating, if harrowing subject area. A lot of the people that do it are really scarred by what they see, and McCullin's book really gives an insight into the effect it can have.
Finally got round to watching it and echo Chris's recommendation that you watch it. Moving and a bit disturbing at times.
Watching this now and dear god there's some harrowing images. The change between the frightened first timer in Sarajevo and seasoned shooter in Chechnya is impressive (and how he wasn't killed though ineptitude is amazing).
