yes another Evil Dead thread.

does this DVD have the theatrical ending as a deleted scene ?

No I dont beleive it does as the director hated this ending they were forced to film it as the original ending was deemed to much of a downer by test audiences ( isnt that the point ? ).


Also beware the added footage isnt of the best quality

i heard the theatrical ending, although not as good as DC is quite funny.

i actually prefer the supermarket ending which they initially used for the theatrical showings - a much cooler, funnier ending.

Sam Raimi's original ending is OK but it's not a patch on the one he hates.

Is this ending (supermarket ending) on the other AOD dvd as its the one that i prefer?

The wallmart ending or the Apoc ending ?.

As far as i know the Apoc ending is Sam Raimi's original ending. This was cut and replaced with the Wallmart ending for the theatrical showings (due to test audience reactions) and later Sam Raimi got to put his original ending back on for the video.

So i guess you could say the Apoc ending is the real ending (in Sam Raimi's eyes at least)

I just happen to prefer the Wallmart ending myself

Surely Anchor Bay will be releasing this on R2 sometime soon ?.
Any chance of both endings being included ?.

i read somewhere, that in UK the comapany that owns the rights are not planning to release it any time soon, because there isnt enough demand. ??

On the THX approved Army of Darkness single disc edition, both endings are included with the Original Apoc ending included as an extra - I personally loved the supermarket ending as it just showed again how cool Ash is! :D

looks like i have to wait for yet another release.

i want both endings.

but the DC being the main feature.
