It's a PSN/XBLA title... "well that was a bit unexpected". Not sure I like that camera view, might be cheap though.

Weird, it's gone all Diablo on our asses. I guess the name-change is reflecting that it's a departure from the series.

looks naff
suppose to be 1200 MS points (about £11)
Looks alright to me, better than the typical Tomb Raider style.
Big Tomb Raider fan, but doesn't look like there's anything there for me.

I kinda like it. Reminiscent of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (Not the Point and Click) and I spent quite some time playing that... Hmmm... I feel like playing that again.
Depending of reviews I'll stump up some for this.
As a Tomb Raider game it looks a bit rubbish. But this isn't a Tomb Raider game, hence the name change and it is an XBLA/PSN game so it is also a lot cheaper. With that in mind it might not be a bad game compared to other offerings on XBLA/PSN.
However, given how fast the last Tomb Raider game dropped in price to around the same value as this is new, it is hard to get excited about it. Plus one of the appeals of Tomb Raider is to look at Lara while playing and move the camera around to get a good look at . . . the environment.
I think it looks decent enough in comparison to a lot of the XBLA stuff. I'm sure it'll be on offer at some point so will pick up then.

Yeah I didn't realise it was an XBLA game at first, so looking upon it more favourably now.
Still get a lot of enjoyment out of the Tomb Raider series, I thought Underworld was a decent game.

Played this through with the wife over the last few days and it's really good.
Some really decent puzzles interspersed with some good boss battles.
Probably took about 4-5 hours to complete with 175/200. Would defo recommend it.

Got an email today to tell me I've won a free copy of this, entered the comp ages back and completely forgot about it, just wondered if this was worth a play through or not as I'd just pass the code on to a friend if it's a bit poor.

Yes. It's very good. Far more fun than the last Tomb Raider game.

It's about 100 times better in co-op though, although it's still enjoyable solo.

I enjoyed the demo, will probably wait for it to drop to 800pts before I purchase. Probably won't be able to play co-op so will be single player for me.

Thanks, sounds like it's worth a play through so will get it downloaded
As with most highly rated XBLA games, I will wait for the inevitable cheaper offer in a few months.
Will get this and Deathspank when they are cheaper.

I won a copy too. Was perfect timing really as by chance I had tried the trial for the first time the night before I won, and really enjoyed it. Almost bought it then and there, with points.
i entered the comp, and won, but email went into my SPAM folder. I stupidly clicked "empty SPAM" folder as I usually do when I go into my gmail SPAM folder in the split second it took my brain to say "no, don't delete that!" and before I read it. it has now gone, and i cannot recover it.
I've been enjoying this but hit a bug in the PS3 version: choosing "continue" on level 2 results in a hang on the loading screen. Can anybody tell me what the difference is between continuing and starting again? Does "continue" remember the complete state of where I left off? Does starting again remember anything? For example, if I start again will it know that I've collected some red skulls or completed some of the level's extra rewards?
I haven't returned to this since encountering the (reproducible) freeze on the load screen. :( I'm hoping they'll fix it as part of the online co-op patch.
In related news, the online co-op patch for the 360 version is out on the 27th of October, somewhere in the world:

The first DLC will be free as compensation for the delay, but whether free to all or just early purchasers who didn't get what they were expecting is not clear.
PS3 and PC patches "coming later".
Three posts in a row from me! The PS3 online co-op patch is now available. No idea yet if it will allow me to play the single-player game again.
Edit: yes! It does. The bug whereby one cannot continue one's progress on level 2 appears to have been fixed. I can play the game again!
First DLC is free for 30 days on PSN, from this afternoon.
Having played the single-player a lot now this week, I'm really enjoying this. Each level needs at least two runs through in order to collect everything (once for score, once for speed, and maybe another for one-time challenges and missed pick-ups). The puzzles are satisfying and not too hard, the combat is fun, and I love the graphics.
Haven't managed co-op yet: there are never any games available, and when I create one I don't tend to get a bite. I guess it will be much easier with private games, with your friends, but for jumping in with a stranger it's a bit awkward. You can either create a game, and wait (in a menu) for somebody to look for games to join, or you can find a game that somebody else has created. So you've got to try both, to find the people who are hosting and the people who are not hosting. It would be better to have a system where you could just say "I want to play", and when somebody else is found who also wants to play, pick the host system based on connection (or at random). Even better would be "I want to play as ..." so you can be matched up with people who want to play as the other character, to forestall problems with negotiation. And better still would be if I could register my interest to play, then be notified during the single-player game if somebody else was interested. As it is, there's too much waiting around in menus for other people to look in -- perhaps as a result of the co-op patch coming so late after release?
Is anybody else playing?
One more post then I'll stop having this conversation with myself. I finished this recently and proclaim it one of my favourite games of the year.
By the end of the game I had decent weapons (the chain gun hit the sweet spot of damage, rate of fire and ammo consumption) as well as the powerful relic which gives power shot, power bomb, scatter shot, health and ammo regen, and power speed. As you kill enemies and collect points your relic meter fills up. When it's full the relic's effects kick in, and there's really nothing to beat taking on waves of enemies with a souped-up chain gun, out-manoeuvring them with the delightfully arcadey controls. This makes the points challenges in each level a lot easier than on the first run: a full relic meter gives a 3x multiplier on points from kills, and of course it makes it easier to get those kills. (I enjoyed the challenge of reaching many of the target scores on my first run, but when it was time to go back and mop up those I'd missed, the upgrades ensured it was a lot of fun.)
100% completion entails completing the score and time challenges for each level, as well as collecting hidden artifacts, power-ups and 10 red skulls per level, and completing various per-level challenges (example: bomb a spinning ball into a fire pit on the first try). While some challenges are a bit tough (the enemies-on-columns one taking me the longest) they're generally fair and extend the life of the game somewhat.
I've had a go on the free DLC: two shoot-as-much-as-you-can levels, and two puzzle-type levels to be completed at speed. They're fun enough, but I won't bother buying the extra packs. I would love to see a sequel though.

I bought this when it was on sale on XBLA and I'm really enjoying it too. It looks great and the whole thing feels very polished. Only played the first 3 levels but its been good fun so far.
finished levels one and two online with my cousin and found them enjoyable. I'm a sucker for coop games anyways.
Just need to find more time to play.
If you both have a (steam) copy of the game, can two players play co-op over the internet?
Loving the single player game
Yes, the PC version was patched with online coop in November:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-24-lara-croft-gets-online-pc-co-op-article
reduced on all formats - got it for £5.10 on psn...
well worth it.
