First post in here, but I think I've just come across a gem of a little band (for me, so far anyway) by the name of Pin Me Down - a side project of Bloc Party guitarist, Russell Lissack.

Couple of tracks on their Myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/pinmedown

I think I've be investing in the album over the weekend, but as I haven't purchased anything in a while, I'm torn between adding to my CD collection or finally moving over to the digital format in its entirely. Anyway, that's a side issue...

Let me know your thoughts on the above, if it is old news, just ignore me!

Heard his first solo single on the radio.

It was like one of those dance Bloc Party tracks. A bontempi set to 80's house with rubbish lyrics on top.

I reviewed it on The Music Fix a couple of weeks back and really enjoyed the album. It's nothing groundbreaking but if you loved Bloc Party's first album, then it's highly likely you'll like Pin Me Down.

I really liked Silent Alarm and Weekend. Struggled with Intimacy though, far too electronic. I always thought Bloc Party had solid enough beats anyway for indie but once they went more electronic it lost something.
