View Full Version : Sky pace digibox
I have just ordered an amplifier so have a little problem with the tv stand. I was wondering would it be possible to have my pace digibox on its side? Then I could fit amplifier, dvd player , recorder, and digibox and not have to buy a new tv stand.
I don't know about the digibox (though personally I wouldn't) but have you considered heat and airflow?
The thing that makes all your equipment more likely to fail is running at hotter temperatures.
My old Wharfedale DVD player has dropouts on its digital output when warm, my Sky analog box locks up, my digibox is none to happy, my old (and fortunately replaced) nokia ondigital box was awful at any sort of temperature above ambient.
Just an opinion.
Good luck with the amp though, it'll be fun.

Apparently putting a sky digibox on its side stops the red dot appearing.
PaulaB - No. The Pace Digibox can be temperamental at the best of times and mine blew up after close on 3 years of horizontal service. Luckily I was covered by a coverplan as the replacement cost would have been high. Better to invest in a new TV stand IMO. :)
PaulaB, I had the same space problems as you. Not a Pace digibox I know, but my Grundig box has laid on it's side now for months without any problems.
