Update from the band

London 12th April 2010 – Anthemic rockers Alter Bridge have today announced that they will be returning to the UK this October to tour the country once again in support of their forthcoming 3rd studio album (further details tba)

After a hugely successful UK tour in support of their stunning second album ‘Blackbird’ in November 2008, Alter Bridge – Myles Kennedy, Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Philips have been busy. As well as writing a brand new album, they’ve also been pursuing individual projects – Myles has co-written and lent his incredible vocals to 2 tracks from the new album from ex-.. N Roses Guitarist Slash, which has been met with huge acclaim from both fans and critics alike. Myles is also going to be joining Slash on tour as vocalist when the rock legend tours his new album this summer. Meanwhile, Tremonti, Marshall and Philips have reunited with ex band mate Scott Stapp to reform their previous band Creed and are touring the USA.

But with a brand new album to add to their spectacular arsenal, the band cannot wait to come back to the UK to wow fans up and down the country once again with their captivating blend of crowd pleasing, fist pumping anthems and raw, life affirming ballads. Speaking on the band’s October tour, Myles Kennedy had the following to say....

"We can't wait to get back and share the new songs with our friends in the UK. It's going to be a great run!"

"AB III" has been announced as the new album title, also the following track listing :

01. Slip To The Void
02. Isolation
03. Ghost Of Days Gone By
04. All Hope Is Gone
05. Still Remains
06. Make It Right
07. Wonderful Life
08. I Know It Hurts
09. Show Me A Sign
10. Fallout
11. Breathe Again
12. Coeur D’Alene
13. Life Must Go On
14. Words Darker Than Their Wings

Lead singer Myles Kennedy told The Pulse of Radio that the follow-up to 2007's "Blackbird" will be a "darker" effort. "There is certainly a common thread throughout the, almost the entire record," he said. "It's lyrically a pretty dark album, probably the darkest record I've been a part of. Just a lot of questions personally that I had over the last few years, just things I was struggling with, and it was a very cathartic record for me, just to kind of get that all out. I mean, that's generally the way I personally like to write lyrics, for things that are honest and from the heart."

Stunning album, that last track particularly with Mark on vocals is quite something. Have always enjoyed Alter Bridge and was in doubt that they couldn't match the quality of Blackbird and although this is a different sounding record I think they've surpassed my relatively low expectations for their third effort.

Really gutted they're not playing anywhere near me. :(

Slaves to Gravity (http://www.myspace.com/slavestogravityofficial) are the support, really looking forward to Friday :D

We'll be doing eight songs from the new album, five from Blackbird and about three from the first album. We'll have a light show but no pyros or gimmicks.

Just got around to watching that video Nicola, what a stunning performance! :notworthy

Mark looked to be enjoying himself on stage, a beaming smile throughout, would've loved to have been there.

I really should have gone to Southampton last year, and wish they were playing someone similar and local this year, but how come they have gone from that size venue to Wembley Arena this year??

Glasgow on Sunday. I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I'm not keen on the jump to a much bigger venue.

I heard that Glasgow is close to selling out so it shouldn't be too bad. They're in a tough slot though, probably too big for Academies but unable to sell out arena's. Birmingham had around 7,000 in their last night.

I wonder if Creed will play over here next year as they are playing much smaller venues in the US on their Spring tour?

Aye, they're at that size where it's awkward to find venues. I can't see Creed coming over as the current tour is an intimate one-off thing and Stapp is arrogantly lazy. Having said that, his ego has been put in place since their heyday so who knows.
