Did anyone else watch this on channel 4 tonight? All I can say is I don't think I have ever been as upset at anything on TV or film as this documentary. I'm pretty speechless about the whole thing to be honest but the bit where William Hawker, father of Lindsay Ann Hawker, was patrolling the streets of Tokyo showing her picture and telling people he was killed by Tatsuya Ichihashi and showing his picture so people would hunt for him was to me, the most moving piece of television I have ever seen.
I would personally like to take my hat off to that man and hope he is comforted by the fact that he has since been caught, though I am sure it is small comfort. As I sit here in tears typing I hope I never have to go through the anguish he has.
