Just thought I`d mention in case no-one was aware, that Marantz have upped the price on almost all the range since Monday 25th Feb (As I found out yesterday when ordering new stock).

The "excuse" is that due to the demand for the current range, they have shifted production to a higher capacity facility, and this results in higher overheads, to reduce waiting time for orders...

So basically, in a nutshell, the forum offers will have to go up within the next few days (as are almost every other retailer how stock marantz, as we`ve all been sent letters). It means that most lines have between £30 and £50 on the RRP :

For example,
SR4200 B £299-95 -> £329.95
SR4200 GOLD £299-95 -> £339.95
SR5200 B/G £399.95 -> £439.95
SR5200 B/G £399.95 -> £449.95

Same applies to DV4200/6200 in gold:(

All I can suggest is if you were thinking of something like one of the SR receivers, to consider getting in an order (or even a pre-order) at existing prices from your dealer or the bargain forums, as from next Monday will have to up the forum prices to cover the new stock prices....

Sorry folks, though prices were supposed to come down, not go up:) Harman Kardon have done the same with their new models also...

or they know they have a product that will sell at a higher price..so why not make bigger profits.

greedy gits :mad: :mad:

I want an SR5200..but just can't justify (to the missus) buying one at present.....it'll be even more difficult now :(

They had BETTER honour the old prices on all the backorders we have! Got loads of SRs on backorder since Jan:(

Forum offer prices will be ok till Monday, even if you do a "pre-order" - i.e don`t want it till say a couple of weeks from now, after that will have to include the new hike, but will keep Black models about the same (its gold options they have upped more!).

Personally, I think they`ve made a BIG mistake, as all the new Pioneer, Yamaha, Technics, Pana, and HK receivers out next month are now DPL2 minimum, so they will lose out if they are not carefull to cheaper models, even if they are not as good.....
