View Full Version : Compact guitar effects pedal?

Found a nice cheap studio but all their amps are straight tubes with no overdrive!

Bit of a trek to get there so I am looking for a compact effect pedal which is easy to carry and just has basic overdrive, reverb and delay effects, nothing too fancy.

Any recommendations?

they'll overdrive if you turn em up :)

the little zoom boxes are ok, but i guess it depends on what type of sound you are after?

Doing some home recording using my Pocket Pod at the moment, a very nifty little bit of kit.

More for live playing. I heard the pods are really only good for recording. Is that true? I already have Pod XT bean, but its a bit too big and heavy for me :p

No! Whilst I did turn up the gain, it had crunch but sounded like ass underwater.

fair enough. Do you know what amps they are? if you can't get the sound you want out of them, probably best going for something with amp modling in like the pods or the line6 type of thang I'd say.

For live live I use an original tubscreamer, a dave hall custom overdrive pedal with a nice nos mullard valve in it, plugged in to a musicman amp, again with mullard valves... mmmmmm :)
