Setup a perimiter :D That NYPD guy really knows how to **** off Jack!
The Starbuck part of the story will just no go away :| That guy how is asking questions seems to know an awful lot for a probation officer :suspect:
Pres Hassan's daughter is used as leverage to get "File 33" which is a complete list of the DoD radiation detection capabilities! So who was the mole that got them that then? So letting her go was a fake knowing she would go to CTU.
Secuuurrriiitttyyy :D A big EMP and a sacirficial security guard, but CTU goes dark from the EMP and once again terrorists take out CTU
Not that great really, twist not crazy enough to classsic 24. 4/10 this week.

It was a bit better this week really -- although saw the twist with the daughter coming a mile off.
That parole officer is such a dork, interupting someone while they're tracking terrorists who are trying to nuke Manhattan !?! "Yes, I can see that but I have still some questions about my no-mark parollee..."

Theres got to be something more to the Parole Officer malarky.
Another one of those moments where the scriptwriters did Jack's supernatural intuition a terrible disservice.
"Get out of the cab."
Come on, who thought there was ever going to be anyone waiting in that cab?

I thoguht that as well at first but on reflection they could hardly assume noone was in there (they'd have been open to being shot at!):dork:

Oh well, hopefully CTU will think to put some sort of blast door between their visitor car port and the office on their next HQ. Or just tell the stupid cow to CARRY ON DRIVING.
Surely not even CTU is so stupid as to allow the "drones" and other systems to only be controlled from the one location?
Dana is in CTU, why the hell couldn't she just get some grunt to encourage "Parole Officer" Milton to stay in the visitor room FFS. Or kick him out until the crisis is over, he can get another plane. Also I don't believe she asked to see any credentials unless I missed it, what a dumbass she is.
Love the visible plasma sweep coming out of the EMP device, would that actually happen?
I hoped File 33 was just going to contain the answers to the next series of Who Wants to Be a Slumdog Millionaire :(
Hope Chloe is OK :(

Unless she is a robot she should be fine  or has a pacemaker.
Thought this was the first good episode of the series really.

They're in an underground bunker, the EMP might have taken out the air conditioning and she'll suffocate within minutes   . Or be killed in the hordes of panicking CTU workers stampeding out of there!!!
I must say it was bloody good timing of the bad guys to know exactly what time to set the EMP countdown to so that it would explode right at the CTU doors. What if she'd stopped at an extra set of traffic lights or gone a block or two the wrong way? Or arrived 10 seconds earlier and obvious red shirt guy had managed to get in and move it far enough away. Even if the countdown was remotely started only when she arrived at CTU it is pretty good going to get it so right.
Oh and where can I get one of those "100 gig thumb drives" that The Parole Guy mentioned to Blondie.

Would it not have been a lot simpler to just pack a whopping great conventional fertilizer bomb and level the entire building, or am I missing something obvious?
Maybe EMP's are just more 'trendy'
And before you can say Arlington Road Lite... :D

I think they have made several references scattered across the preceding episodes about how the "drones" supposedly flying about NYC can detect explosives being driven around the city, maybe that includes fertilizer bombs too.

100gig drives.... remember this is set in the near future
I'm hoping that one day a dyslexic terrorist tries to cripple CTU with an EMO.

fair enough on the 128gb but its too clumsy to say for script

you can have a 256GB one as well for twice the price.
MAD....256GB on a thumb drive, who'd have thought youd need that....

Sergeant Anus didn't last long did he?
 So not just me that did a double-take when his name was first mentioned. He certainly lived upto that name.
Entertaining, pacy episode, easily the best of the season so far by a vast distance. But, if it were part of any previous season, it would have been average. Saw through the "Twist" but still liked how it played out.
Next week's trailer is Gun-battletastic & suggests we may get two decent episodes in a row....

I quite enjoyed this one actually. Anything is better than the godawful Season 6.
I thought Jack's "he's impersonating an officer" was quite good, I smirked at that bit.

pretty sure they kick off the second half of the season with a 2 episode monday don't they? IIRC..

They're gonna need a double episode to get all the new PCs in from Dell and unboxed
Agreed that this was the best episode of the season so far, everything that has gone before has been dull as dishwater. Lets's hope the second half continues at this pace.
No Madame President in this episode mind you, you'd think she would want to be informed about the rods / Hassans daughter etc.

Awesome first 10 minutes, then when it ended it was obvious that they'd have escaped down a side alley, or side road, as that has happened every single time.
Jack was just driving for most of the episode and still directed play, the ploy which you hope doesn't work, doesn't work as Kiefer sees right through it, twice, in like 5seconds, nothing fools him.. great ending I thought, although funny how with 10s on the clock (another bomb with a massive timer in LEDs on it) that red shirt was like "I can move it"... he couldnt even start the car in time.
Easily best of the season, we had :
An ambush on a hotel by cops who should have just setup a Perimeter
A car chase gone wrong
A 15 minute deadline over file 33 that wasn't at the end of the hour
CTU has been taken out !
Action action action with short term deadlines, what 24 does best !
Of course we all know that the EMP will have erased any incriminating evidence and video against Starbuck :suspect:

Much better this week - best episode of the season and myepisodes says we have a double header next week.
Now just to sit through the turgid Lost as it limps to its conclusion.
better episode this week
and yes, Bill 'Parole Officer' Dauterive does seem to be very keen/knowledgable

24 rule - if two people are shown having sex, at least one of them is a threat to national security. Guess I'm one of the few that fell for Tarin's "rescue" of Slumdog Daughter. The entire premise of taking out CTU was ridiculous, exact timings, LCD and all, but I guess it beats drilling through the floor in series 6. And CTU had to be taken down - not only is it a staple of the series, but every man and their dog know how to find the place, and seem to be happy having non-cleared "parole officers" wandering around the corridors.
I guess Renee's story is finished? Did she leave CTU? Has Madame President turned in for the night?
Why are the flak jackets given to CTU so utterly useless?
Jack: "It's empty! IT'S EMPTY!!!!!!11" :lol::lol:
Watching Dana squirm was great. I thought she was going to top herself at one point. I guess she's in the clear now her data has been wiped. How handy.
No-one picked up that the P.O. had been in Star Trek! Added to this week's board.
We have another line! :D
Seem to be setting up for a corker double ep next week - if it's anything like the White House takeover last series, it'll be awesome. My money is on either Arlo or Starbuck getting taken out. Hopefully both.

Has that Tarin bloke ever been in Star Trek? He looks Romulan even without any make-up.
That was actually really good. I don't care if its another take-down CTU type thing. With it being an EMP its was cool and instead of having people in hospital etc (most of them) we just have all power etc. gone, which completely neuters CTU.

Much better this week - enjoyed it a lot.
This season is not really that great so far and last night proved it. So a parole officer can just walk into CTU after all their previous take downs and then up and walk about in the middle of a terrorist threat - I think not
So people liked this episode:suspect:
For me this is turning into the worse series ever of 24 (even worse than 6:gag: ), so many holes, so many silly subplots (the Starbuck ex boy friend has got to be the worse subplot of all time in 24), and yet another episode where Jack spends the most time in a car.
In other 24's we are now at the stage where the story takes a twist/jump and moves in another direction or steps up a gear with a new 'real' baddie (but I think we have had 3 of these already this season!) and if it turns out too be the parole officer........

What this series needs is a return by Julian Sands from beyond the grave to liven it up.
I'm guessing the EMP has wiped the data, thereby making Starbuck think she's got away with it, but surely it won't be that simple?

Yep, I think he is a genuine parole officer.

Loved the way he was wandering around a supposedly high security installation making a nuisance of himself. Presumably surveillance evidence that might have incriminated Starbuck has been zapped by the EMP. But something tells me parole officer man is not going to give up easily. :D
In the confusion following the blast she should just kill him with a blunt object. Really brutally.
It would at least add a little interest into the whole sorry storyline.
Fox seem to be taking their time announcing if this will get another season or not. Didn't they say they were going to announce the end of this show "within days"? That was weeks ago. What taking them so long? Axe the show and put us out of my misery!

NBC were rumoured to be interested in it, so canning it is not in the interests of making money on selling the franchise.
If it ends, i want it to end on a great Season. Season 7 was good overall, but died a bit at the end. Season 8 is picking up now. I say take it back to basics!
Season 1 starting at 1am (whatever) was fantastic, with something happening and we didn't know what. Why does it all have to be so grand scale all the time.
Well, just caught up with the last two eps in a double-bill tonight and thought they were excellent - much better IMO. The bit in ep 11 with the oxygen chamber probably went on a bit too long but liked the Jack-shouting-down-the-lens bit to scare the kid into thinking he'd kill his Mum. Ep 12 was very good I thought, even if that annoying Dana/Kevin storyline is taking the gloss off. She's pretty bloody stupid for an 'intelligence analyst' or whatever!
