hi i only want a decent point and shoot, trouble is i got pentax for my first camera several years ago and then moved onto a canon ixus, had several since then, just about to sell my canon ixus 950 is and ws going to go for a 980 is. I have never tried other models and i dont kow if i can get the same from another model but cheaper or better quality from the likes of panasonic etc. it really is taking pics of families on days out and some pictures of the house we are renovating.

thanks

Take a look at the Panasonic TZ7 (ZS3 in US). It is a fantastic piece of kit, superb lens, great CCD and HD video too.

I am not sure how the price compares to the 980is, but I doubt you would regret the purchase.

thanks funnily enough i was just looking at the spec for the tz10 which is released in march. I dont need a new one but was going to search out an older model and see what that had to offer. thanks.

The ZS3 in the US has been going down in price a little (of course seeing as I got one in October!). I presume the TZ7 which is the same should also be reduced a little and probably more so when the new TZ10 comes out
