If you can wait (at most 1 year) then wait for the r2 HKL version.

year seems a while away, looks like i'll be getting the r0 version
If you can't wait, just get the Fox Lorber / Winstar R0 NTSC. As you say it's got a commentary, which I thought was very good and interesting :)
The picture isn't bad, but it isn't good either - but blame that on the film not the disc :) Not sure how much better the HKL transfer will be, but if I were you I wouldn't only wait for the new version, get both

HKL are doing the works on the Killer giving it the 2 disc special edition treatment.
So personally i'd wait.
I loved my dubbed VHS of this film. "Mickey Mouse! Mickey Mouse!"

Wait for the HKL release of The Killer, if the rumours are correct, it's going to be the ultimate HKL DVD, maybe the ultimate DVD of a HK film full stop!!
You may not have to wait that long as well!! Fingers crossed. ;)

Fingers, and everything else, crossed...............
And what are these "rumours" you've heard Shingster???
Please do elaborate! This is probably the film I can watch more than any other and never get even remotely tired of.
Go HKL!

The "rumours" are that The killer will be the next platinum title, instead of Naked killer! A platinum edition of a first class HK film instead of GOD(poor) & Red Wolf(Good, but not great) would be why it'd be so good! :)
Sorry for getting your hopes up with inside gossip there chaps! :p
