Can anyone suggest a solution to this, I've mounted my tele to the wall in the bedroom and need to use headphones late at night to avoid waking the missus. The tele is quite a distance away so I thought I'd buy some wireless headphones which would work fine. The only problem I can think of is that ideally I'd like to leave the headphones (well the wireless receiver) permanently plugged in and just have the phones on my bedside table but leaving them permanently plugged in would always mute the main speakers and I'd want to use them as normal say during the day.

Can anyone suggest a way round this without having to get up each time and go and plug in the headphones lead?

I guess it depends on your TV but I've just doen exactly this in the lounge. I have a panasonic PX80. I've bought some Sennheiser RS160's (http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/home_en.nsf/root/private_headphones_wireless-headphones_502873) and connected them via the RCA audio out on the Back. Line level output so not tied into the tv volume.

At night I just grab my headphones and turn down the tv volume.

Great headphones by the way, superb clarity and has a volume conttrol on the headset too.The only flaw is the shortish range - I wish I'd bought the slightly posher RS170's (althought they cost £150!)

I'd forgotten about the audio out - perfect! Cheers Watsui.

I think I only want something really simple though so might just go for the entry level RS110 verions, not bothered about the range as it's only 5m or so.
