As I picked out a few songs I love for another thread, I realised how a fair amount of the artists I enjoy I found from listening to Colin Murray's old Radio 1 show - Bright Eyes, Band of Horses, British Sea Power, Aimee Mann, Maximo Park to name a few.
I used to have this show on in the late evening in preference to any TV or DVD. Fun to listen to and as I've said above, I regularly discovered artists/ tracks that I enjoy.
Does anyone have recommendations of any similar radio shows that are in the same vein?

You can also browse sites like (cough) www.themusicfix.co.uk or www.anydecentmusic.com - there'll often be on-site widgets to hear tracks, etc. if something tweaks your interest.

Not a radio station as such, but last.fm (http://last.fm/)'s customisable radio is pretty good for getting to hear new artists from genres that you like.

another vote for 6music. DJs playing & talking about music they actually want to play which makes a refreshing change :thumbs:

I've discovered a ridiculous amount of new music I love through listening to BBC 6Music in the mornings - although it can be hit and miss, and sometimes there seem to be periods where they play lots of rubbish.
